Do you still remember your childhood landline number ?

Just had a flashback conversation with a friend and I could remember my house, my grans, my best mates and even his grans. Must be over 20 years since I dialed them

And the number of the phone box that was opposite my house.

The hours I’d waste ringing it, and watching the confusion of passers by, wondering whether to answer it or not.

I used to do reverse charge calls home. If my sister picked it up she used to refuse as she thought it was funny

If I was feeling particularly evil shit mode, I’d ring the phone box number, wait for someone to come out of their house in their jimmy jams to answer it. Yep, you guessed it, I’d hang up just as they open the door to the box.

Repeat until bored.

Yes. My home phone in two different towns. My friend's phone numbers. My Dad's number. My Grandparents number. My Dad's mobile number (the same since he got an Orange phone in about 1996, the dialling code got an extra '7' added later).
