Has any of my fellow fabbers been on TV either film or TV series. I'm curious as to know if anyone has been on the big or small screen.

Myself I have been in a couple of films as an extra. Most famous being a zombie in Shaun of the dead. Anyone else been in a blockbuster film?

I did some 'supporting artist' ie extra work for a bit some years ago, it could be good fun sometimes. I used to find the whole process interesting, which made up for the long waits.

The problem with this thread of course is you are limiting the responses (in terms of the programmes or films) to face-friendly fabbers!

Edinburgh

I've done a few over the years. My first one was Chariots of Fire alongside my fellow uncredited actors

Stephen Fry and Kenneth Branagh.

More recently Outlander, Fast and Furious 9 and Rebus

It's fun because I don't have to do it or rely on the work

I've been on a few talks shows, and been I interviewed a few times on magazine/lifestyle shows. And I did a fair bit of stunt work and co-ordination in adverts and TV shows. I used to be a professional fly-fishing guide and instructor in South Africa. And it was all fishing related.

How does somebody get involved in being an extra? It could be interesting. Do you get paid?

Local TV news a few times most well in the past for doing nature conservation work.

I did also sign release forms and got filmed by a team working for Facebook who were planning on putting an ad together based on a friends social enterprise run through Facebook but the footage never got used.

London (She/Her)

When I worked for the BBC (a LOOOONG time ago) I had to dress up as a medieval peasant and be an extra during filming as well as doing my job - only in the end they cut me out cos i couldn’t stop my face looking happy as marauders swarmed our village haha

It's simply a case of registering with an agency and creating a profile. They shouldn't charge for this. Once you're accepted you simply say yes or no to casting calls. Expect more queries than actual work. The agency gets it's money by providing people so always submits as many as possible. Once they get you work there's usually a small annual registration deducted from your first wage. Except to earn approximately £110 per day. It's fun if you have the time and don't rely on it for steady income
