Is there a thread about King Charles banning Meghan Markle from celebrity engagements for 6 months?

News on some sites that I can't link to, saying he has banned her from celebrity engagements for 6 months.

Is this reported anywhere else or just bullshit speculation?

Can he even do that?

Out of interest, what do you have against benefit claimants and immigrants? Do you believe them to be "bad", as you believe Charles and family to be?

Harry & Meghan need to decide if they’re in or out of the family in terms of Royal status.

It would seem they have both decided (and vocalised) that they wish to be independent, which is their prerogative, yet appear to want to retain the status and social standing that retaining Royal titles gives them.

Imho, they should revoke their titles (and royal household funding)and go live their lives as they wish, free from restriction.

In the meantime while they retain the titles, then Charles as head of the Monarchy is free to dictate how they should behave when representing “the Firm”.

How are the current Royal Family immigrants?? Aside Prince Philip, who was born abroad, there's an unbroken line of British born individuals in the current occupants of the throne room, the line of succession and their immediate ancestors.

QEII's parents were both British and born here. George VIs parents were both born here. George Vs father, Edward VII, was born here. His mother was born in Denmark of varied ancestry. Edward VIIs mother was Queen Vic, born here. His father was, yes, German.

Basically, if you think the current Royals are immigrants, then I'm also an immigrant because my Great Grandfather was a Dutch Jew who emigrated at the end of the 19th century. But I'm British. As is my father and his mother before him (descendents of the aforementioned Great Grandfather).

Don't think they get any Royal funding, Dan, and aren't working Royals so don't do any engagements representing "The Firm".

Charles could strip them of their titles, I guess, but perhaps he wants his son to retain one.

You do realise that actually the King is a net contributor as all the income generated from the Crown estates is passed to the exchequer and around 15 to 20% is then returned to the Monarch in the form of the Sovereign grant - so actually, he's costing taxpayers nothing

I’m kind of 80% sure that they still get something from the Duchy of Cornwall, rather than the Royal Family / Civil list (tax payer).. so Charles pays from his income rather than from us. They certainly had Civil list funding stopped.

As a Dad I guess that’s his prerogative from his own funds.

Mind you I can’t be arsed to look for the source for that so I think you can read it as Source : T’internet. So I could be talking absolute bollox*

Might be wrong but I think the duchy of Cornwall income now is Will's.

They really do have the most random, incorrect news stories on there, like Carol Vorderman is dating an alien kind of stuff.

Their family? Or rather his, you know the royal family and it's heritage which is ingrained through our country akin to Blackpool rock. Imo how they've acted is tantamount to treason.

Aye there are plenty of people who should be banished, yet the thread is about those two.

Treason?! Calm down, dear, the hyperbole will kill you.

I think there have been bigger misdemeanors in the Blackpool Rock that is the Royal Family, including in pretty recent memory. Deciding to step back from Royal Duties doesn't seem like such a big deal to me, providing they don't get any public funding, which they don't.

Writing a shitty book is a bit classless, but hardly a crime either, especially if we want him to make his own money!

If she was white we wouldn't even be having this conversation. If anyone doesn't believe she was bullied and ostracised for having the audacity to be mixed race then you are just as bad as the Royal family.

Surprised this has even been leaked, has Andrew sex pested someone else and they need a distraction?

There's definitely been less brou-ha-ha about Andrew's recent slightly reintegration into the fold
