It was predicted in The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists.

Unfortunately I fear that the beloved mayor has us by the short and curlies, he is responsible for tfl and the disaster of the financial black hole created by bailing them out, which means when the strikes are on it’s a win win for him, everyone is forced to pay ULEZ / congestion charges to get to work, and TFL aren’t paying anyone who strikes .

I am sure if you check on certain websites like Julie maps you might be able to plot a decent route without passing any cameras that are actually working. Within a day of being repaired / replaced all of the ones I pass on a semi regular basis are re covered / sprayed so wouldn’t catch you anyway. Just the pesky mobile units you’d have to look out for…. Assuming your vehicle isn’t compliant that is

Only if we elect them.

Most politicians seembto forget that they are accountable to the electorate and can be removed at the next cycle

If it were about health he'd ban the vehicles, the ulez tax is nt about health its about raising cash

I'm surprised the Tories haven't privatised it yet.

I can see arguments from both sides.

On balance though I think you should still have to pay it. Everyone still has to pay all the other costs associated with owning and driving a car. Tax, MOT, car parking charges etc

Accountable to the ones that vote them in which is often a very small minority the local community.
