I kind of thought someone would have mentioned it by now, but as they haven’t I hope you can accept me starting a thread particularly (but not exclusively) impacting the female sex.

As someone with a close family member impacted by this horrendous illness and can see the worry, pain and suffering I implore all women to make sure they’re checked and clear!

Early intervention can really make a difference - details can be found here : https://www.breastcanceruk.org.uk/breast-cancer-awareness-month/

(And gents, while we’re here, don’t forget to check your balls too )

And the moobs....it affects you lot too

I check regularly and I'm in countdown for screening as both my mum and aunt are survivors and I've lost many other female family to it to. Have contemplated the genetic screening but it's harder to do as they don't want to have it done.

best wishes to you and your family

Years ago in my 20s I had bad eczema around a nipple .. was seeping quite a bit (TMI I know!). Luckily steroids cleared it up but the Doctor did tell me it *might* be breast cancer if it wasn’t, in fact, eczema after all. That scared me .. gawd only knows what your family have been though
