Hormones and hearts.

Also if it has tyres or balls it's likely to cause you upset or break down at some point.

Otherwise it's great..

I'm single and have been for many years.

Even when I had a husband I might as well have been single.

I don't think my life is harder because I'm single now.

I have the basics in life and my family.

I have health problems that hinder me physically, but I had some of the issues now that I had when I was married.

I have more, and much better sex now.

I have more freedom.

I still can't put up a curtain pole or decorate my home.

I still sleep alone.

Pah! Henceforth I shall address you as "Mini Rogue", OP. For you are a womanly rogue with perfidious tendencies to create such questionable threads.

A singleton woman's life is made from the purest carbon, but weaker than a flawed diamond. You pilfer the battle-hardened hearts of men and replace them with the darkest of shadows born from phantoms and ghouls, and you cause carnage upon their goodwill and good nature.

You haemorrhage monthly and yet you bleed us daily, we engineer the widest of roads that resemble a parking lot and yet you continue to manoeuvre 13 times for a 3 point turn. You have brought this upon thyself and yet you inflict blame on the dispirited souls of the gentle men.

You crave sex and the companionship of man and yet, despite the flight of a thousand cold granite steps that lead to your ivory towers, your legs remain steadfastly closed like a drawbridge, leaving us to yearn and lament through the poisoned and twisted bars of your portcullis and gates.

Nay, ladies, retract and disavow from your unwarranted pining and reach out to the moderate mods and beg for this thread to be closed and sanctioned for an eternity.

It's no harder for a single woman than for a single man (or single person of other gender), nor is it harder for a single woman than for attached people.

It's just hard in different ways is all. It's proper hard to cuddle yourself to sleep when you're crying, that's for sure.

You have too high expectations and need to compromise.

Who said life was easy anyway. Why should you want or think you are entitled to an easy life?

That's self indulgence.

It was the strain of maintaining a false identity rather than living as a man in particular. But then I think about how that doesn't fit the point you're trying to make.

"Tell me... why?"

It's down to manners and respect firstly and then a man's individual experience with women and how it impacts his view of women.

Not that some of our gender are polite and respectful to men either to be honest

I find it hard as a single woman and as a single mother. The constant misogyny on here is exhausting, but if I should mention it I am a misandrist. Feeling lonely and needy but as I am "drowning in offers" those feelings are invalidated. Trying to find someone who I find attractive and respects me as a person but reading daily how fussy women are and we go for the top 10%. Supporting the complex needs of my children alone as my ex chooses to be a Disney dad rather than co-parent.

That's why it's hard.

It's hard because no matter how much I make it clear what my boundaries are, people like to cross them, and then when I remind them of what they are and stick to them, they get upset that they can't have what they want and what I'm made to suffer next is completely shitty behaviour where I'm apparently the arsehole. Especially if I make it known that I'm upset with them at any point.

I'm supposed to just do what they want and not have a voice.

That struck a chord for me, it really did. Someone said to me once that they don't realise they are doing it. But then they don't start like that do they?

That's my line too, if I start feeling like I don't have a voice. That one cuts really deep for me. The disempowerment.

I hate this comment. It's dumb. You're not the first to say something along the lines of the choice in the first place being the mistake. Which just seems to excuse the behaviour of the other person. The person shouldn't be pushing boundaries or limits out of selfishness. But hey let's brush that under the carpet shall we?

Trouble is on fab the lifestyle means we get in bed with people wearing masks on their best behaviour much sooner than we might normally and by the time they start waving red flags at us like it's a carnival we're already in the situation.

How could someone possibly know that on meet two a man is going to declare he's in with love with them?

How could someone possibly know someone's going to be jealous and possessive until if course they actually show it?

Why is the judgement of the person who picked that man rather than the actions of the man in question. We don't have crystal balls do we?

Have you picked perfect partners every single time I wonder???

So, if I don't show the real me, and hide certain traits that maybe my predominate traits, Control, possessiveness, jealousy, manipulation, and coercive to name a few. And actively display the opposite, then poor selection can't be to blame.

As I'm showing a mask, a guise to get what i want.

The trouble with this is, true nature will always come to the forefront, as its the true nature to act like that.

Yes it is. And when you stop allowing that behaviour, recognise it's not a healthy dynamic you get the abuse. The anger. The hurt.

I do think "taking back" that power is difficult but it's also necessary. You can easily be swept up and lose sight of so much good if you don't. It then starts leaking in to future dynamics, eating away at your confidence. No one deserves that.
