soul is my fave music, 60s and 70s, love madeline, also irma thomas, james carr, and anything on hi! records

not to mention all motown stax etc.

Speaking as a northern soulie of well over 30 years experience who did the Casino, Cleethorpes Pier, Samanthas, Blackpool Mecca, Yate, Top of the World, Clifton Hall to name but a few and still does all nighters, weekenders etc it must be said that daddy dancing should be confined to and left at wedding night time do`s, birthday parties and for Christmas nights out with once a year drinkers... as for a soul dancefloor, soul dancing only.... end of ... keep the faith

Only found out recently That the Steve Karmen big band with Jimmy Radcliffe singing Breakaway the absolute Northern Soul Classic was originally recorded to be just used as the background music to advertise 1969 Pontiac's.

Well I know Tony Blackburn did a cover version of Doris Troys - I'll do anything, think he called himself Kenny Gamble.
