I agree with this (with appropriate controls of course to prevent abuse) - we put animals out of their suffering but continue to force humans to endure pain and suffering until the last moment, often for years.

If I get a serious terminal or dilapidating illness I’d like the *choice* to facilitate it before the suffering or dependency on others became too much.
