So I always find it strange when I or someone else puts a post up and people start commenting and chatting but when I lets say reply to what’s someone has put but they ignore me and chat to everyone else so my question is why dose the OP get ignored in there own forum?

Once you release the thread into the wild, it rapidly evolves. It runs wild and free. You cannot contain it.

It depends on the topic, mate. If it's an OP-specific topic, let's say profile advice for example, then the responses would probably be targeted at the OP only and it's reasonable to expect that. Otherwise, if it's a discussion topic, like most topics on here are, then being the OP does not confer any special status.

I like to verbalise “Release the Kracken!” When I post a thread.

This^^^^^^

And once released it’s no longer your thread it’s the forums thread and no one HAS to reply to you unless they want to.

Getting ignored on here is par for the course. You have to learn to let these things go, sometimes people engage with you directly on your thread, other times you get ridiculed and humiliated, sometimes just ignored. It's all great fun

I enjoy opening random threads just to see how they run, generally they get quite funny

I do think it's down to the thread itself largely. Some people post a grenade topic - you can't then be surprised if it goes off.

Some topics - you just happily see where it takes people, but I do like to be quite firm with people who start ranting on a thread I've started. And then I ignore their comments and reply to everyone else.

'The Clique'

A mysterious group of people on Fab that got to know each other through chat and mutual fun and won't fuck you.

Take that as a blessing!

They all fuck each other.

The first post is only a jumping off point, you shouldn't really expect to be the centre of attention. If I'm busy but have an entertaining idea, I may post something and then come back to it hours later to see how and where it's gone, surely in a selfish entertainment way (not a grenade dropper though )
