More than likely they can't accomodate but want to meet locally as in not travel far.

A town near you

I presume hotels

We wouldn't accommodate a stranger in our family home nor would we go back to a strangers house

Hotels or clubs.

I don't want strangers in my family home, nor would I go to strangers houses.

Hotel, club, will travel locally. (Some people assume "will travel" means "will go to the Outer Hebrides after two messages")

It's a paradox and I'd clarify in my profile, if I'd selected those options.

I'm a little too tightly fixated on the literal meaning. I include people who meet at hotels as that they can accom. Fab could do with a few more options to help to simplify things

"Really?! I don't get what is so hard to understand with that "

Well it just seems like a double negative. They don't want you in their home (understandable), but they don't want to go out either.

My experience is that the positive leads to people just assuming they can take what they like.

"Can accommodate" means "I'm coming over". "Can travel" means "you're coming hundreds of miles".

What if I can accommodate occasionally, people I know and trust, and I'm only prepared to travel locally? Either way I'm going to piss people off, no matter what I choose (because reading is hard and people are entitled)

Maybe don’t believe everything written in profiles.

It may all be a ruse to manage inbox levels?

They probably want to go out… but whether that’s “out out” will depend on who is messaging

How does it equate to not wanting to go out?? I mean, I don't drive so I would probably have to meet at least within the town I live in

Cannot accommodate is clear enough.

Cannot travel simply means that they do not wish to travel outside of their locality or immediate vicinity.

Haha. Exactly this.

I have this on my profile but it hasn't stopped me meeting!!

From my point of view, I'm sick of guys assuming that I will accommodate them 25/7 and I will travel hundreds of miles if I say I can to either option. Neither is the case.

local, but not too local

I take it to mean can’t travel far.

If I drive 2hrs out and 2hrs back then I’ve no time to do anything.
