Convicts on the line...

Reeked havoc on a commute home from Waterloo many years ago (c1990). Apparently, the police insisted the power was switched off before they would persue the convicts on the tracks.

Not in this country, but a train I was travelling on through the Netherlands stopped in the middle of nowhere and I couldn’t understand the announcement. Some time later two guys in hi-viz walked past carrying a swan, then off we went again.
