Does anyone pay attention to winks?

I use them as a sign of interest/break the ice kinda thing, but does anyone see them or are they ignored?

I don't get em ever so il use it a sign of intrest from a couple or females. But again never get em so nothing I really look at

If I get a wink I generally will respond with a message, I don't send winks, if a profile interests me enough I think the investment of two minutes to type a message is wworth it.

I think they're a signifyer the sender has read and liked your profile and inviting you to check theirs and proceed if you feel akin.

I've started winking because I've written so many messages that people don't respond to that I really can't be bothered anymore. Send a wink and see if theres any response , saves all the typing

I never used to, but that was on a couples profile.

I do now. Has led to a couple of meets and some great friends.

Admittedly they're less frequent, but there's nothing wrong with a wink as an icebreaker.
