"I'm new to this buying bedding just got new bed now need advice on classy bedding for my new lovers to experience." If you want classy, not trashy, then buy linen bedwear. It feels great but doesn't have the 'Playboy Mansion' vibe that silk or satin does. Or, if you want something more manageable (linen cannot be washed hot and does not like the tumbledryer) then get some 'Hotel' cotton bedwear. Go for the highest threadcount for the most luxurious feel. Avoid bright colours and black, choose grey for that classy 5* hotel look.

"Silk for that, I'm sure I was on the bed when I went to sleep experience." Yes silk looks the part but is really not practical. I wouldn't stress about it too much OP as long as the pillow cases and quilt cover match you're good to go.

(I have silk pillowcases for my hair. It doesn't entirely match the rest of it but honestly no one's looking at my bed)

"Start with protective mattress cover - these are not waterproof but are stain resistant and just add another layer between body and very expensive mattress. Get fitted sheet for bottom sheet, flat sheet for upper sheet. Go for a good quality duvet - look at the multi-season duvets that have a thin one for summer, a medium one for spring/autumn, and then they button together to form a thick one for the winter. Always use a duvet cover. Get decent quality pillows, always use a plain inner cover and your chosen colour/pattern outer cover. You could go for matching set of sheets, duvet cover, pillow cases, or buy contrasting/complementary colours or patterns, this depends on your own tastes and the decor it is to go with. As others have said, good quality high thread count cotton will be better value than cheap stuff. Get at least two sets of everything, you could get all identical, or you could get different sets in different colours and designs. Personally, I like bright colours and bohemian patterns. I like to make the bed with contrasting rather than matching colours, or say put a light green top sheet with bottle green bottom sheet. Also every bed is improved if the duvet cover is a riot of colour featuring elephants!" Note that giraffes are also acceptable, or flocks of brightly coloured parrots. Avoid pandas unless your theme is mostly monochromatic. Warthogs are not a good idea.

Cotton, around 300 count thread, plain colours like ivory or something similar depending on the look you want to achieve. Plenty of reasonably priced stuff on ebay, sometimes tkmax and similar.

"There was some Xbox bedding on offer in asda the other day was going to buy but didn’t have super king size. Would love to see someone’s reaction having them over for first time then they see your matching Xbox bedding and pyjamas " - I’d love this! Would probably be wearing my cat woman costume, might clash with the jamas though!

"I'm new to this buying bedding just got new bed now need advice on classy bedding for my new lovers to experience." Sorry to hear about your wife OP. Get yourself down Dunelm and you won't go too far wrong. As others have said, go cotton. The easier the maintenance, the better

"I'm new to this buying bedding just got new bed now need advice on classy bedding for my new lovers to experience." Sorry for your loss. Go for natural fibres, go for colours/patterns you like. Synthetic, whatever the percentage of it there is, is awful. Brushed cotton for winter, but that's me being cold most of the time talking. Good luck.
