To be able to speak your mind?

Or, do you just speak it and hope for the best?

I'm a bit of a free spirit I generally speak my mind, however, recently I've managed to have a filter to keep the smut out of everyday talk.

I don't drink and prefer to let things fester until it builds resentment and contempt with the person I want to talk to about the problems

I consolidate my resentments into one convenient monthly outburst. This may involve alcohol

One of reasons I gave for not drinking was the fear of telling some people what I really think of them or outing myself as kinky.

There are times especially recently when I want to drink but for the wrong reasons

No, I tend to speak before I think, it's a curse, I don't need drink for that but I'm probably more honest & have a more brutal way of saying things when I've had a drink.

No I don't need a drink and even if I have I often still take my own counsel best.

I don't always think the truth needs to be heard, sometimes it is just wasting my breath and their ears. Save it for the conversations and relationships that matter.

couple, us we him her.

Neither.

I find people who say they speak their minds generally use this as an excuse to be rude.

And I certainly wouldn't need booze to do so.

Always best to speak in a nice and clear manner to anyone. I don't think drink helps with that.

I'm not confrontational by nature and I've never tasted alcohol.

Some people claim to be able to speak their mind regardless and have an "I couldn't give a fuck" attitude and I've no time for those because they have no thought for the impact of their words.

I'll speak my mind if asked for it but I'll never use it as a weapon.

No and I am wary of those who don't speak their minds.

I am not conflict averse, so I will speak my mind, if I feel it is justified. Once it's done it's done. Go back inside have a pint, hug it out or whatever. It's done then.

I don't think alcohol changes that really. Same process.

I consider my words. I certainly don’t need a drink to be honest. But I’m never blunt or brutal. A little diplomacy, understanding and empathy can go a long way. In the past I have been reactive, but only when I’ve felt that I’ve been wronged in some way. These days I mostly don’t reply at all, or leave considerable time to reflect before I do.
