So it entirely depends on whether if we have childcare or not.

Without the kids, city breaks somewhere like York or Edinburgh. Hot tub lodge. New toys, then spend some time trying them out!

With the kids, day trips and meals out. Fun, but not quite as fun

It's hard to travel the entire two weeks as hotel costs will be higher than £800.

So one week in Lofoten Islands and remaining week chilling at home reading books.

Rome beginning of December is apparently good as it's cheap and less crowds. Although I'd probably do a long weekend somewhere like Prague for a Christmas market. Enjoy myself to the max and then veg the rest of the time. I'd take the two weeks separately.

This also reminds me I really need to book my holiday time
