Why are women these days out attacking men for dating or seeing younger women? I'm not bating or trying to start arguments, I'm just genuinely curious. If both are legal adults what is the problem?

I personally don't see a problem, but for example if you take DiCappiro the actor he gets railed cause non of his GF's pass 25 before he breaks up with them. Even in my workplace alot of women comment on age gaps of other coworkers....

Yeah I like to go out and attack men on a Friday night when I think they’re with younger women. It’s like a sport to me. Few pints in the pub and go searching for targets

Carlisle usually

Sometimes, an age gap relationship happens naturally. People just gravitate towards someone they have that chemistry with.

Sometimes, it's a deliberately gross and repeated predatory thing.

I'll always frown on the second. Regardless of whether the person actively seeking those without life experience is male or female

Yep. And that's not me attacking the second. I'm fine with the first, it happens, I'm well versed in it. The second is grim. Regardless of gender.

The only reason you can be against an age gap is if you think the younger person isn’t an adult that can make adult decisions about their life

And if that’s true you should also be against them voting, or driving, or drinking alcohol, or whatever else we allow only adults to do

We need to stop infantilising women.

That's a separate thing altogether.

We do need to stop infantilising women. That doesn't mean we stop protecting the vulnerable.

We also need to stop infantilising men and enabling weaponised incompetence but that too is another story

I think sometimes it's not so much the gap in age more an issue with the how young the youngest party is. I think people may see something a little predatory or a sort of abuse of power when someone targets a very young adult who's still very much developing and learning about themselves. And I think we all know some adults even in their 20s who are not that mature and vulnerable.

For example the story about Russle Brand with the 16 year old when he was in his 30s. Yes technically legal and she gave consent. However I think most of us are very uneasy with the prospect of a guy in his 30s wooing someone still in school and having sex with them. However I don't think any of us would have an issue if it were a 35 year old woman with a 50 year old guy. So same age gap but the age in terms of personal and emotional development in theory is a lot smaller gap.

Having said all that it's different case to case. Some very young people do have a good head on their shoulders and I think there are some relationships that come from a position of genuine connection, chemistry and love. However I do think a lot the times when it's a considerably older person with a young adult there's often something very iffy, unhealthy and often abusive in nature although technically perfectly legal. I've known women close to me that when they were late teens been with guys in their 30s plus. And although consensual and legal now looking back know it wasn't OK and the guys in question were very iffy and took advantage of their youth.

Now I get what people say about being old enough to vote, drive etc. Yes they can legally consent and this is their right and their body to do what they like with. I don't think anyone is looking to take that agency away from them, nor should they. I think the problem is not young people, it's people who actively look to pray on that youth and take advantage. Then just say everything Im doing is perfectly ok because its technically legal and they wanted it. There's where the problem is, with those people. And like I say not in every case but it goes on far more that it should just like other abuses of vulnerability and power. Why they tightened this behaviour in educational and other relevant establishments/positions with the abuse of a position of trust laws.

Mr

Have met several younger ladies and talked to many more, there is an interesting Reddit on AgeGapRelationship and AgeGapPersonals though the latter is full of fakes.

In the case of Leo, it's a pattern. It's exclusively women younger than 25. That's more than just a preference, and is highly suspicious of potentially being a power thing with predatory origins. His celebrity, status,, influence and experience will have him in a better position to have power over his partners. Is that what's happening? No idea but the signs do it no favours.

People can be naturally drawn to each other. Sometimes an age difference makes it seem strange but it happens. Not everyone will understand if it's not happened to them.

Men, in general, are simply seen as predatory by default. Largely because the majority of the time it is men being predatory so the stereotype fits better.

Men, in general, don't make it easier by some of the things they say and do. Look on here at times and 99% of the time if something bizzare, questionable, and creepy is said its been said by a man. Much less so by a woman,, though they can say and do these things too.

Anyway, as I say, sometimes it's something not everyone will understand so will view it as wrong regardless of reasons and motives/intentions.

Maturity comes with experiences , sone women left home or moved country in their teens and had to work so hard, been through so much by 25-35 are extremely successful, wise beyond their years and an inspiration , yet still full of energy and adventure. Can be great for dating

I suspect it's just a people watching (and judging) thing. I guess it depends! I've met a few younger guys and a chat and sex is fine but I couldn't imagine anything more. Pretty sure our terms of reference are so different that we would run out of things to say.

Men comment on this too. Particularly male comedians and particularly Ricky Gervais in the presence of Leo who laughed.....

Is it just women you have a problem with ?

PEOPLE not women alone have the personal point of view on age gaps.

It's pointless you asking why 'women' do it as if possession of a vagina makes them age conscious.
