Hi any ladies on here been through the menopause and went off sex or found it uncomfortable due to hot flushes also

my wife had a prolapse as well but didn't go for treatment of the prolapse or for the menopause for fear of cancer from hrt treatment.

This has caused an end in our sex life but we still love each other.

After a few months of arguments with the wife not telling me what was wrong I eventually found out and was more understanding and didn't badger her for sex or questions just satisfied myself with wanking to mags , videos etc.

Has any women or men been through similar situations?

Post on mumsnet, there is a very active menopause section.

Applying testosterone gel apparently triggers the libido, no end.

Gels in general are great "OB Yes" is very enjoyable.

Ask her to discuss it with her doctor.

I wouldn't post on mumsnet but look in as well as on Hystersisters. Put trigger words in the search bar & you learn so much from ladies going through the same.

Ladies don't understand it so men definitely can't but it's the best you can do other than be patient & understanding.

Prolapse can be corrected if/when your lady feels up to it, hopefully a passage of time as it passes but everyone is different.

Good luck.

Can I just say I,m a bloke advising a bloke given my experience so no need to attack me if others are not in agreement.

North West

I have prolapse and currently in a medically induced menopause to stop (or try to stop) horrific bleeding due to endometriosis and adenomyosis.

Sex is sometimes painful. I get far too hot much of the time. It all depends on the day and how I'm feeling. I tried HRT but it just made me bleed again. Actually, I just bleed still anyway. But anyhow. Menopause and prolapse fucking suck and so no matter what anyone says or does or what gels or ointments are applied, it might just be too uncomfortable. Prolapses can especially lead to pain and discomfort during sex.

Has your wife seen a urogynaecologist about her prolapses? If not, this would be a good place to start. I am awaiting a hysterectomy to deal with one of mine. Surgery for another prolapse failed after a year.

Thanks for the advice ,I forgot to say it was over 15 yrs since my wife went through the menopause and over 20 yrs since she had a prolapse.

She never had any ops for it and don't know what advice she was given by the doctor.

We did have sex after she had the prolapse but that was at least a year after she had it.

Since the menopause she didn't like me talking about sex or even trying to do anything to do with sex.

Thankfully I was doing nightshift which helped a lot as we were less in bed together.
