Stopping yourself

How many times do you have to stop yourself commenting on posts.

I think I'm having a bad month I've had to stop myself several times today from being a dick, well a dick for a reason but the drama just isn't worth it.

Is it just me or do you have to bite your tongue too?

Do you just comment & not care how they take it?

Do you do a me and not comment then log off for a while?

On here I'd say I'm quite capable of saying what I think without overstepping the mark

I have to restrain from posting when I see really bad spelling and grammar. Which is often

I'm generally quite good at saying what I mean in an inoffensive way, so I am happy to just post.

The times when I choose not to post are usually when it requires too much typing but I "CBA".

A lot. Mostly because I don't want to get reminded of the thread in our recently commented list, or because I want to avoid that naughty step

Bad spelling & grammar are annoying, but correcting is doesn't advance a discussion, so I don't see any value in doing it.

Nowhere

Believe it or not I do have a filter - so you can imagine what doesn’t make it to the forum given the stuff I consider relevant!! But there are times when i see the whole point of a post being deliberately manipulated into an entirely different direction thats when i tend to leave the thread as i know its going to become a shitshow

I refrain a lot of the time as there is no point to it.

Just raises the blood pressure for no reason.

Do tend to block the profile though, petty but makes me feel better

Sometimes, if I’m having a bad day I’ll respond negatively to a post, type something out then often delete because it’s not worth reacting. Or I’ll reword it to be less emotive.

I refrain a lot from commenting and giving my opinion. Even if done in a nice way. I think sometimes it's best to leave it alone.

I will always remember my Sgt Majors advice.

"Opinions are like arseholes, everybody has one but nobody wants to hear it"

Quite a lot, recently, as I lose track of what I was going to say.

My point gets lost in the waffle.

Oftentimes I will type up a response to something and delete it.

If I am in a bad mood that's my problem and not everyone else's.

I refuse to let the Forums be that big a deal in my life.

I don't want the drama as it is never worth it.

I'm not willing to get in to a war of words, one-ups and gotcha's with a bunch of people I don't know... especially on a swingers site of all things.

I am here (in the forums) for my own light-hearted amusement and that is all.

This is supposed to be fun...

Away for Christmas

Stop myself, rarely. I will generally say it I have something to say and want to say it. I just adjust word usage slightly to avoid a ban.

Now, do I often stop because I just can't be arsed commenting. Often find I just have no interest where the convo may go, or no interest in its destination.

I do. Not necessarily as I will overstep (though there is always that temptation), but if I know it'd would become a long, drawn-out exchange, and I just don't have the energy for it.

Or when a post would require too much thought/effort for me to get my point across properly. That's also a point I think "nah, fuck it".

All the time. Most days I want to proper cuss someone out. But if I’m going to get a perma it’s not going to be for something as boring as telling someone to suck their [redacted] mum.

I actively avoid many threads now days. Most are just banal crap and there are too many people who actively want to take offence - life is too short for that rubbish.

Just out of curiosity OP - is it the same type of thread/message that causes you issues or do you find it is happening on all threads?

I've learnt to see if a thread 'dies away' or just gets deleted before I post on it now.

Like others, I occasionally something only to not post it.

I don't like misinformation though! I always have a huge urge to correct it. And other times just to show the other view (we live in a very polarised world), or simply have my say.
