Do you 'take advantage' as much as possible? I mean, bills are bills aren't they and electricity isn't cheap!

Do you pack all your rechargeable devices and batteries and plug them in overnight?

Do you lie in the bath for hours with the hot tap running slowly to keep the water warm?

Maybe even take all your work clobber with you and use their iron?

And do you nick all the unused, biscuits coffee sachets and tea bags, even though you don't drink tea?

When you say “they get thousands of towels”, they buy them, and then have to replace them if someone steals them. That pushes up prices for the rest of us.

If something is complimentary such as a certain hotel I go to provides complimentary penhaligon toiletries they are coming with me. I have never thought about charging all my devices though now that’s an idea

Normal useage tbh showers, charge my phone as i would at home. Sometimes i take my own towels and pillowcases. I do take the coffee sachets they're convenient for when i want they occasional hot drink. Although i tend to use the coffee in the room. Hotel rooms are dear enough as it is. Hate to think how much prices would go up due to ppl taking the piss.

We've stayed in a LOT of hotels here and abroad. We do take baths and use more hot water than we do at home. The tea, coffee and toiletries lose their novelty after a while and we just leave them behind unless they provide excellent hot chocolate.

I might take the nice toiletries, these come in handy when travelling abroad.

Always bring my own milk,they never supply enough!

Otherwise no,plus I'm too busy having hot sweaty sex with multiple guys to think about anything else

Anything they expect to be taken/used is fair game. I'm supposed to drink the tea/coffee so if I don't and just take it then what's the problem? They don't expect you to take towels, that is wrong. Using their electricity, that's a tough one. Probably OK to charge a few batteries but not sure if they would like you feeding a charging cable out the window to charge an electric bus.

That's why you ask questions and don't assume. I laughed at what the OP wrote. Running the bath leave the hot water to run to keep the bath warm, iron his work clothes that what I laughed at.

Assumptions and jumping to conclusions don't get us anyway in life.

I don’t do any of that OP, but in Marriot suites you get these mini little shaving kits and toothbrush and toothpaste kits, they are so handy for short haul trips where you don’t take luggage.

So I normally say this to housekeeping , these kids are really useful for travel, could you get me a couple more? If they say yes , I say could you get me like 10 of each ..while are holding out a $5 note , always works

I will take the longest hottest shower possible, because my shower at home is a lukewarm dribble so that feels properly luxurious to me.

I travel quite a lot so tend not to bother taking the travel-size toiletries unless they're particularly gorgeous (last time I stayed somewhere that provided little Aveda miniatures I took them all every day). I'll drink the coffee and eat the biscuits but don't bother taking any home with me if I've not finished them.

We use the coffee machine, but would never use the kettle, and we would plug in our various devices, but other than that - nothing in a hotel would be better quality than I have at home, so it stays there.

Hotels don't just ' get' towels, they pay for them and they pay for the laundering of them .

People take these kind of items, which contribute towards increased hotel running costs, which will then inevitably contribute towards increased costs to the guests... which means guest will then inevitably moan about the cost...

Towels and the likes aren't consumables, they are part of the fixtures and fittings.

I’m in hotels far too much lately. I don’t take advantage of any of that. I try to keep Housekeeping out of my room as much as possible. I don’t even want my bed made by them or the room tidied either.

I do often use the spa/fitness center as if outside of my hotel stay I don’t have the privilege of spa or gym. I also refill water bottles in the fitness center instead of buying bottled water or paying for the in room bottles.

There wouldnt be biscuits or tea to nick as I will have eaten and drank it all. They can keep their nescafe. I do have to stop myself stripping the beds and piling all the used towels and sheets neatly, and tying up the binbags and giving it all a spring clean before I go though.

Hotels don't just ' get' towels, they pay for them and they pay for the laundering of them .

Towels and the likes aren't consumables, they are part of the fixtures and fittings.

I don't think we take advantage. Hotels for us are just places to sleep.

I might take the mini toiletries or unused sachets of hot chocolate if they're decent, and we always eat the biscuits anyway.
