My nan’s spare room.

Not my mind, my pen, I lost it on Monday, it was a snazzy fountain pen too.

Frustratingly I know where I last had it.

Have you lost anything lately, did it turn up in an orifice somewhere?

I lost some sunglasses. But it was shit weather for most of the week so I wasn't bothered.

The sun came out again yesterday so I bought some more.

Wore them for 15 minutes and then it started raining again.

This might be the grimmest story I ever tell on here, but last week I lost a poo sample in my flat.

I'm having a whole battery of tests done at the moment but the least pleasant one is the poo sample.

I did the poo, took the sample and sealed the vial, took off my gloves and washed my hands and cleaned the bathroom and then mopped the floor because I noticed it was a bit dusty and then put all the towels into the washing machine and did the dishes that I noticed were sitting in the sink, and since I had a big bowl of hot soapy water I took my coffee machine apart and cleaned it all down and made myself a coffee and sat down to enjoy it.

At that point I noticed the biohazard bag and remembered I was supposed to be posting off my sample, but couldn't find it and had no idea where I'd put it.

How can you just lose a sample of poo?

I scoured the bathroom, not there.

Checked the kitchen, no sign.

Waited for the washing machine to finish and checked that, but no.

Hours later I still couldn't find it and had visions of having friends round and one of them stumbling across it.

Of all the things I've ever done in this flat I think hunting down a turd may be the oddest.
