It really depends upon the situation. Most recent occurrence was when Lucy came by to pick up an eBay purchase, she sent me a text after to ask if I wanted to meet up for a coffee/drink.

It’s a brave thing to do and most men would admire that trait.

Stop thinking on the lines of does it desperate or is it desirable.

Has he asked you out?

Does he want to?

Well if you feel there's chemistry maybe.

Is it likely he will ask you out in the future?

Indications seem to suggest not.

So what have you got to lose? Just be a grown adult and ask him. And if he can't be an adult and respect you taking the initiative its no loss really. Personally I like/respect women who are adults and confident to clearly communicate with me how they feel, especially if they where looking for a relationship or at least something regular like FWB. Communication and openness are traits I value.

(BTW I think it coming across as desperate and/or cringy has more to do with how you ask rather than should you ask)

It's doesn't look desperate for a woman to make the first move especially in this so called equal society some guy's are really shy when it comes to talking to women because a lot of guys feel intimidated by going up to a woman and trying to ask them out because we are sceard of regection sorry about the spelling and they would love for a woman to make the first move and trust me 9 out of 10 times the guy will say yes because it tells them that they are disired by someone.

Its definitely hot. As a man depending on the situation I prefer the women to make the first move. In a nightclub situation we all know that guy who has to gets physically picked out the way because he is harssing women and does not get the hint. I do not want to be associated with that guy.

In a nightclub situation it can be difficult to guess people's intentions and boundaries. For me grinding with someone is just dancing and there is nothing more to it. Where as someone else may see that as a massive invasion of space. Another situation you may fancy her but all she wants to do is grind with you.

Basically I don't want to accidently hurt someone or be accused of something. So it's best for the women to make the first move. That way you know where you stand. Imo. I know a lot people will disagree with my cautious approach.

Hey OP I say do it. Write a little note with your number on it. Then there's no worry about him having to give an answer to your face.

At least then, if you don't hear from him you have your answer, no embarrassment, you know where you stand without an actual rejection!

I regularly take my car to a local car wash & the attendant is HOT!! We give each other the eye every time but I keep chickening out of giving him my number!

Worst case he doesn't call or accept the number, he might have a partner already, and you have to use a different car wash
