couple, us we him her.

Sometimes when a thread turns into a heated debate with very long replies that usually involves quoting another.

I completely loose track of the points being made, who's right and wrong, who's getting offensive and who's getting defensive?

That’s because often the point doesn’t matter, everyone’s ego is too big to admit maybe they made a mistake or were incorrect

People will literally die on their hill arguing semantics on a forum for swingers

I don't get involved in those kinds of debates on here. We're all here for our shared interest im not sure it's the best place to share controversial political views

Those threads are usually too fast moving for me, I really can't be bothered to scroll back up to try and find who originally said what so I can reply to them.

When there's a multiple quotes of looooong posts that's my time to exit the thread. To much finger action scrolling through all of that!

As others have said the essay replies on top of essay quote replies tend to signal its time to leave.

It's a debate! There are many voices raising a diverse range of points, some on and some off topic, some straight up rants, then some posters will lock horns, sometimes this will dominate a thread with people joining either side. It is fascinating! But no you can't scan through it.

I have read through numerous threads from top to bottom, many of which I'd not even contributed to because they were already full or moving too fast. And can confirm, they mostly make sense - but very be time consuming to untangle.

Agree, it ruins the Threads so lose interest in them.

It's because Fab's forum is twenty years out of date. Other forums have collapsible quotes, and show you the usernames of who was actually quoted.

The forum software that Fab uses is quite simple and old (which has both pros and cons imo) and it simply doesn't handle personalised quoting well. The forum is much easier to follow and use on a laptop (or tablet I'm guessing) than a phone too.

On top of that, only a few of us sign our posts. Signing occasionally gets called 'uncool' and I get called up on it all the time. I only started doing it because I struggle to follow them otherwise though! Once I was quoted here, where the very-first word of the new post was literally one-space after my last word... making the new post look entirely like my own text. I genuinely struggle to follow threads on here too, so always do what I can on my side to help, especially as I tend to write a lot.

Fortunately I think a lot of people see writing more than a couple of lines as either needless for them personally, or actually even "pretentious" (or just not the done thing, as most people keep them short), so there are not too many posts to complain about really!! A lot of people use smileys to 'close' too.

Another thing people could actually *do* to help though - other than to sign/initial their posts - is to *delete* the unnecessary parts of what they are quoting!

Some larger threads can seem to take an age to scroll through on a phone, which could be why they are all capped at 176 posts.
