After being on and off here for over 10 year and since hitting 50 finding it harder to find meets . At what age do you think it's time to retire from fab

I think age is a barrier when you're a 50 something when you let it become one.

I do think once you reach 55, realistically your choices are far more limited. You'll appeal to far fewer women. It's how you approach it though. Retire from fab when you feel it's no longer serving you - you can still meet people. Go to socials etc.

Do you think there'll be a wave of young uns to keep it alive? Or will it be filled with threads about the halcyon days?

10 years from now? I think there will be lots of young cool forum users and I’ll enjoy not understanding a single word they’re saying. I’ll only be 36 I might be in my fab peak

Surely the people you wanted to meet 10 years ago are also 10 years older though?

I think half the problem is that people don't adjust their expectations alongside their age.

Plenty of women like men 50+. What age range are you looking for yourself? Are you also willing to meet women 50+ too? I like older men and I’m early 40’s.

I think you need to adjust the way you approach fab as you grow older. In much the same way you need to adjust the way you walk up steep hills. It all takes a tiny bit longer but it's worth it when you reach the top

I've definitely changed the way I fab, since turning 40ish, I've definitely got a thing for 35 and under, I've always been attracted to younger but always assumed as I got older that it would stay younger than me (35 upwards) not the opposite direction!

Which is weird as my husband is 37 and doesn't even fit my age bracket!

When you reach 51 OP are you going to make a new account to stay 50 or become 49?

I didn't even find this place till I was in my 40s and find no reason to retire anytime soon. There's more to fab than just looking for the next meet. The social/chatting side is just as important to me. In the real world I wouldn't sit and chat to most my friends about things I do on here.

52 and after ten years and four profiles it appears to be harder but that could be fab in general, times a changed for all of us, it used to be the Wild West now it’s only wild if you go to clubs or get dramatic in the forums, it would happen that fab is finally growing up maybe, it’s sensible phase, either way no one leave, everyone stays, we go down on this good ship together

I'm feeling like I've reached my limit. Older people just tend to have so much baggage it's harder to find anyone genuine without drama. I know this doesn't apply to all but just in my experience.

Older men complain the women all want younger guys. Younger men complain we all want older guys.

People have preferences. Being outside of the majority of other people's preferences is normal. There'll still be some compatible people out there.

We definitely find it more difficult but there are plenty of people in their 40s and 50s who meet other people who are plus/minus 10 years.

Some people in their 60s are fitter, in every sense, than some in their 40s so it’s not just the number but how well someone looks after themselves as well as genetics.

We’re going to our first club at the weekend. People will either like us or not. Don’t expect anyone to ask our ages face to face.

I am finding the opposite.

People in their 20's are still grappling with their relationship with each other and those under 40 have to make childcare arrangements before meets. They cancel last minute saying the baby sitter let them down. What drama!

Fifty plus, like a good wine is mellow and can cope with uncertainties. Like meeting a trans woman for first time. They are less anxious.
