"/raises hand. Been behind the lens since my mid to teens. Tried photographing many things. I've been using prime lenses for the last few years. They make you work a little more to get the shot. Very often I'll try something and when I look at it, I think close but not quite. This results in me having hundreds of shots of the same thing. People are the hardest to capture I think. Add in artificial lighting and things get even more complicated. I do like going out with a small fast prime lens looking for detail, reflections or the golden hour light. What about you op?" Mines mostly a mixture of landscape,wildlife and the odd macro with mostly telephoto lenses 18 - 135 & 70 - 300, i’m lucky where i live that i have countryside all around me and also the coast an hour away so i have a varied mix. i’ve also just been asked to do some sports photography for a company so hopefully dipping my feet into portrait photography too

Do you find yourself always carrying too much with you when you go out? i’m trying to teach myself less is more

Do you find yourself always carrying too much with you when you go out? i’m trying to teach myself less is more " I can guarantee you the first time you try with a fifty you'll feel so limited. You have to use your legs to get the shot. But once you see the results you should see the appeal of them. It really is a less is more scenario. With regards to taking everything out with me, yeah I did that. I don't anymore though. Ideally a single lens and tripod. If it's people indoors then a light as well. I try to think what's the best tool for the job and if I get it wrong then that's a learning experience.

"I take mostly landscapes, done a lot of woodland scenes recently. It gets me out in the fresh air, most of the time I combine it with a walk so keeps me fit(ish) too! " That seems to be my big thing, but love the norfolk coast for seascape and sunset

"I like buildings, churches castles etc no expert. I also like the night sky but this is very hit and miss the best I got was with an I phone so far, was in a very low light campsite this summer and didn’t have my cannon with me. " I love the night sky but sunrise and sunset are by far my favourite

"Any amateur photographers on here, what do you enjoy taking pictures off and why? " Since age 4 when I got my first camera I always loved photographing people, the sea , the sun. I like the creative process taking an abstract idea and bringing it to life to tell a micro-story

Yes….35mm Prime is the way to go for street and then all of a sudden it just clicks what street photography really is. And I like fast 45/50 f/1.8 prime for portraits and glamour For artificial light outside in urban areas 2 minutes before the end of golden hour then watch the red vanish and through blue hour with a prime lens in rush hour / cities the light frequency as street lights come on balances the fading sun.

I miss it though | |||

" ... People are the hardest to capture I think. Add in artificial lighting and things get even more complicated. ..." Completely agree people are funny shapes and features can distort with different lenses. I got into photography capturing images while out walking, so most of mine are landscape/city scape shots, with occational flowers or animals. Would like to do more people work, but as always it's finding the time...

"Any amateur photographers on here, what do you enjoy taking pictures off and why? " I like taking pictures of nature. Forests, streams, animals, bugs, flowers... I also like erotic/fetish photography. Particularly shibari/kinbaku (rope bondage). Combining the above two things is *chef's kiss*

As a kid did you ever put lighter petrol on your hand, light it and then blow it out?
