Is it something you can talk to them about without too much awkwardness?

It can happen even to the most cautious. Try not to beat t yourself up over it.x

I was awoken by a Sex & The City dream. It featured (in no particular order)

The ghost of Mr Big

Carrie Bradshaw

Miranda Hobbs

Aiden

Various exotic holiday locations in a “flashback” stylie

Some bloke whose face I couldn’t make out but who was pertinent to the dream

A suicide jumper (anonymous lady)

Various police (dealing with the suicide)

Architecture slowly spinning around like the inner workings of a clock

I had the same recurrent dream from age 9 to 15. So weird! I’ve never met another person who has years of a recurrent dream. Is it always the same or just always involving pumpkins?

I’m so intrigued.

I’ve just had a deeper think. I had the same recurrent dream from 9-15. It was about clouds, the ceiling in my bedroom opening up and the clouds literally coming down and suffocating me. They were filled with the stuff pillows are filled with, and I’d only get out of being suffocated because I’d randomly have a roller coaster that I’d escape on. Super odd dream and more strange that I can still vividly remember every bit of it.

From 15-22 years old I had a different recurrent dream about a spider that would grow to become a tarantula. This was terrifying as I’d wake up convinced the tarantula was attached to my ankle and sucking the blood out of me. I’d be too frightened to take my duvet off in fear of a frantic being attached to my ankle. Haha!

I started having recurrent dreams again in the last decade it’s super weird and prevents me from going back to sleep. In these dreams I always am unable to speak, scream, or otherwise talk because I’m sleeping but awake yet paralysed. These are nightmares more than anything else.

What's the longest you've stayed awake ? I've done 5 days not intentionally but after the third day all your senses are heightened you go from tired to very aware and the 4th day I remember seeing black shadows moving past me then the 5th day you start seeing strange things and that's when I took a sleeping tablet and went to sleep

68 consecutive hours for me. Was in Uni and literally burned the midnight oil to finish my final dissertation. Sheer will and desperation fueled my drive to complete it and hand it in on time.

I was awoken by a Sex & The City dream. It featured (in no particular order)

The ghost of Mr Big

Carrie Bradshaw

Miranda Hobbs

Aiden

Various exotic holiday locations in a “flashback” stylie

Some bloke whose face I couldn’t make out but who was pertinent to the dream

A suicide jumper (anonymous lady)

Various police (dealing with the suicide)

Architecture slowly spinning around like the inner workings of a clock

..

That's so cool... I've literally had one recurrent dream since 12, and it involves pumpkins... No idea why? Really fuckin weird

I had the same recurrent dream from age 9 to 15. So weird! I’ve never met another person who has years of a recurrent dream. Is it always the same or just always involving pumpkins?

Literally always the same...

I've only ever had CLP of recurring dreams sadly can't remember them now until they come around again .but did thread yesterday about what you see when you close your eyes. I can see things like a movies playing when I'm awake if I close my eyes yesterday morning now .I saw a brown rubber elephant going down the road sliding on its ass.

You mean before you fall asleep or anytime of day when you close your eyes?

I just closed mine to see. I only see darkness.

Anytime

That’s interesting. Does it immediately disappear from your mind the moment you open your eyes?

No its just like I've just watched a short movie but with my eyes closed I asked on my thread if anyone what other people saw when they closed their eyes I also see colours shapes and alsorts of things .another person said they saw things too but also scary shit .if I have bad dream I can say I don't like it in my mind and change the channel."

I can do something similar in a dream. It’s like the real me looks in at the dream me and says “you know this is not real? It’s only a dream”.

72 hours for me. I was finishing a PhD thesis. I literally fell down walking to deliver the finished product, and after that slept for two days.

I often go 35+ hours every few weeks nowadays. I feel as if everything around us moving at a snail’s pace, and I become hyper-fixated with everything surrounding me.

Yes, I do. I go through moments of this where I stay awake for more than 24 hours.

I did sleep, for five minutes. I cannot sleep anymore. I tossed and turned for hours after those five minutes. I gave up.

How are you tonight Stacy x

I'm fine thanks, how about you? X

I’m good I’m alive and causing fun and trouble.

Up to anything interesting?

I'm good thanks!

Causing trouble ay, sounds like a good idea

Nah I'm just chilling browsing the forums, wuu2

Browsing the forums. Naughty chatting in messages. All general sinfulness.

I’d say if it sounds like a good idea then you need to get yourself sinning as well hehe "

Maybe I do yano

Don't get stressed about not sleeping.

If you are dreaming then you have been asleep and probably for much longer than you think.

Make sure your bedroom is very dark your brain will not produce the melatonin that makes you sleepy if any light gets in your eyes.

As we age we only really need 6 to 7 hours of sleep.

You might not feel sleepy but totally fatigued.

When we have fatigue the body needs rest so enjoy that rest in a comfy bed and appreciate all the good things about being in bed and don't think about sleeping.

Absolute rule bed is for sleep and sex and nothing else no phones no doing paperwork no eating drinking no smoking no wine.

Wine might help you nod off quicker but the quality of any sleep will be very poor .Nicotine is a stimulant that will prevent sleep.

Remember rest and be thankful for it.

Ps I am.only awake because I have pain from a wisdom tooth that needs removing otherwise I sleep well.

If your partner is a heavy snorer has restless leg syndrome talks in their sleep thrashes about then it's ok to sleep apart even if it's only on certain nights have a sleep cation it will do you a power of good.

If we have the will power we can override the bodies need to eat and literally starve ourselves to death it is impossible to overcome the need to sleep the brain and body will not let you eventually you will sleep.

Hope some of this helps if your unfortunate enough to be a shift worker then you have the worst outlook.

Good luck people

The Town by The Cross

I woke up about half two. Unusual for me but another cup of tea and quick internet trawl should do it.

Not porn tho .... Probably news sites or clothes.

It was all going so well. In bed by 1.30, nodded off without issue. Then woke up after a weird nightmare.

And here I am.

I woke up roasting hot and remembered the dream I was having at the time.

I'd never tell though because it's just proof of the weird workings of my mind.

I'm impressed. 5hrs of sleep and I can just about tolerate people. A 3.30 start and my colleagues would just be chucking chocolate at me from a distance and backing away slowly.

Lucky Man .. I've got random meetings (regretfully work-related) all week and the following week off - so it's time for me to get back into my hobby and back to the Hills of Wales (for the nosy ones, google Mach Loop)
