Did you used to make little lines on the wall as you grew up?

For those with kids do you do this for them?

I’ve done my first one for my little one. She wasn’t bothered until seeing it happen in her favourite ‘toon.

I just found a pic that my parents took before we moved to another house of the marks when I was 3 to 10 years old

Used to have a height chart on my bedroom door.

I outgrew it.

Then I outgrew doors too.

It's something of a problem.

Yes on a door frame.

I cried when I saw them as I left the house the last time.

They still look like the gorgeous bundles of poop, puke and snot when I first met them - in my eyes.

Now I feel nostalgically happy and sad at the same time.

No, they mark their height by standing against me.

My 13 year old is just an inch or two shorter than me

We weren't in secure enough housing for that. By the time we had a home we could stay in long term I was 7 and my brother was 10 and I think the moment had passed.

Just another form of sky remote really isn't it.

I think the first time my children measured themselves was as teenagers when they had a dispute with cousins about their heights.

I measured my son last year for a reason I can't remember.

We have these on a door frame at my Dad's house. Starting with my son who is now 21.

My grandsons do that too.

I think only one of my grandchildren will be shorter than me.
