Monthly STI test reminder!

By *rancois Du Bois OP   Man

Down the back of the sofa.

It’s the 5th monthly reminder!

As we’re in a group of people that had more sex than others with different partners, we should have regular tests, it’s very much part of the ethical bit of enm!

A quick google will bring you to your free service on the NHS. It’s free it’s easy, what’s not to love

Let’s be the change we wish to happen.

Post below when you’ve ordered!

Some areas are different but there will be some provision! I believe free testing is every three months! I’ve just had the results of my last test back which were all negative!

Oh we should have regular sti tests should we?

How do you suppose I do that, Chop my cock off and post it?

How's about just being safe and sensible, being conscious of the danger and knowing the symptoms if mistakes have been made?

Is it an appropriate use of NHS funding ? I can't get my teeth checked for free but if I choose to be promiscuous I can get a free STD test ?

Some STIS can be present with symptoms.

the postal kits come with a variety of different tests depending on what genitals you have and who you smoosh with them.

You may get a selection of the following:

Urine sample kit

Rectal swab

Throat swab

Blood sample kit

Vaginal swab

Just look up your local areas provision!

While being safe is good, testing helps strengthen that behaviour!

Chop your cock off and post it, what kinda response even is that?!

How about being conscious and being aware that not all sti's have any symptoms at all!

Great filter for knowing those who don't look after their sexual health.

Yep, I expect a bit of pushback, but if it helps a few people I don’t mind!

Personally I find it hard to do the blood test but my group chat buddy’s Jessicagrace and Kittydagger helped me through the last one!

Better to be safe than sorry. I think there should be more awareness like this post promoting sti testing. No matter how safe you are theres still that one chance you could catch something.

Thank you!

I did mine the other day. 45 mins and 5 fingers it took but I did it.

Hydrated, did star jumps to get the blood flowing, soaked my hand in warm water before the wee prick, made a fist repeatedly, massaged the finger and it was still a nightmare any other tips gratefully received.

**Obviously** everyone here is playing safely and with all practical barrier methods, but sometimes things slip through, and many STIs can be spread orally. I’m sure we’re all using dental dams and condoms for oral… because that’s nice to suck on.

So we test. Because we’re a community that cares for each other, right?!

Erm, yes! It saves the NHS money in the long run. Because certain STI can lead to complications if left untreated, that are far more expensive to deal with.

The NHS would also far prefer people get tested frequently to prevent an outbreak from spreading, as that involves treating far more people, which is again a lot more expensive.

Back in the 90s I remember condoms for BJs were a thing. But no-one had heard of dams back then. Not many know about them now!

Shame sucking on latex is pretty unpleasant...I think asking to use them nowadays would be met with opposition to say the least.

I do, it’s rare I’ll give a bj but if I do it’s only to put the condom on with my mouth, it’s a trick they seem to enjoy and means I know the condom is on fully too

I can't believe the purile comments & lame excuses some people are reeling off!!!

Why do people on here feel the need to minimise the risk from having multiple sexual partners, or scoff at the suggestion of regular testing???

Most NHS trusts have multiple clinic times, often at more than one location. Mine does a postal service- I've just input my details, the pack will arrive in a few days & once I post it off, I usually get the results within a week.

If you're having non monogamous sex, or have 1 partner who is non monogamous, you owe it to yourself & your partners to test regularly! Simples!!

Agreed! I did one back in November and it was quick and easy.

The excuses are just terrifying, certainly makes me want to stay away from them. Maybe they feel like some sort of pride by not doing tests? Like a “it won’t happen to me” attitude?

It’s just going to cause problems in the lifestyle if people refuse to test.

I’ll never understand why some people get so butt hurt in these threads when someone has made an entirely valid message. Reminders are great, can never be too careful with it all in this lifestyle, especially seen as some seem to have absolutely no fucking clue! I’ve had to have additional tests as well as regular thanks to one guy thinking he’d be funny and stealth me and I’ve had 2 condoms break with 2 different guys. Each warranted new testing and each warranted other emergency support like morning after pill. Ask anyone involved in the services and they’ll agree, they’d rather have people do testing and emergency pills than the amount of additional pressure from just being ignorant of the risks

Thanks for the reminder

In case it's of any interest, as a straight guy over 25 outside of London, I can only get sent the urine test for C & G

Whenever I go to a clinic, the lifestyle is considered higher risk so they'll test bloods also

The workaround on the SH24 website seems to be to say you have sex with other men, they will then send you the home tests for everything

Hope this helps

Good idea for a reminder!!

We've just had our tests back last week, but moving forward will alternate so that we're tested at least ever quarter between us.
