Soo..in a swing relationship, there must be commitment honesty respect and trust. Trust that the person is your person who you can be with and has you ..its all just kink right??? It isn't right to be held against is it? Asking for a friend

And yet for some reason people make it so complicated.

Held against it?

Of course all of those things are important - you're in a relationship. What's the point of being in one if there's not that trust and honesty? I think when that honesty isn't there, the trust becomes more difficult and little cracks start showing.

I couldn't be in another romantic relationship with someone from Fab unless they had enough respect to be honest with me. It's too much of a head fuck.

I'm not really sure what your meaning but yes a swinging relationship requires a huge amount of trust and communication, if that's lacking id say here is the wrong place to be.

Down the back of the sofa.

Sadly I think some feel relationships are a form of competition rather than a partnership. Lots of point scoring etc.

As I’m heading deeper into my poly journey I find it just comes down to compersion communication and trust.

Sounds like the fun you have swinging together is being used but one half during an argument??

Probably many successful swinging relationships have those components but not all.

Some have the element of true honesty missing, some don't fully trust each other and in some one or both doesn't respect the other. As for commitment, I sometimes wonder if people know what that means.

My opinion is that if there's a problem have a bit of a talk to find out what exactly it is and why it's happened then try to resolve it.
