"I have had an almond bread from the winter wonderland attraction in hyde park last year, my god it was too die for. " I almost went to that but it was so cold and rainy that day that I opted for dinner instead. Now I know I missed out on new bread I have a little pang of regret.

"Yesterday, I bought a crumpet loaf from Greenhalghs Bakery. It's basically like a small loaf but mega-thick cut and has a consistency somewhere between bread and crumpets. Lovely toasted with a big smear of Lurpak on it. Needless to say, the loaf is now gone, devoured ! ![]() Will I find this in Bolton when I head up there in a couple of weeks? It sounds like it would go well with scrambled eggs too.

"The Chorleywood process nearly killed off "real bread" . Time to campaign for the end of the sliced loaf?" nowt wrong with slicing it if the quality of the bread is there (for me that means made with natural yeast).

"The Chorleywood process nearly killed off "real bread" . Time to campaign for the end of the sliced loaf?" It certainly did. GM modified wheat and yeast that hasn't fully fermented is a terrible thing to expose humans to.
