Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

It's (one of) my weakness(es).

I went past a bakery today (please note, went past) and there was a loaf in the window made to look like a crocodile.

Does anyone make interesting bread?

I used to be a baker and i love bread i could live off it,i have just given it up for lent and im already missing it.

I like almond and coconut fruit loaf...and i like rosemary and garlic bread...and home made bagels....sod it i just love it all.

I was going to give up bread for Lent but I have too many conferences with sandwich lunches. I've never had almond and coconut fruit loaf. Let me know when you are baking.

My Mum used to buy us hedgehog shaped bread rolls. God knows where she got them from. But if I see them in Tesco, I'm having them again x

Only had the type they called blackbread ! .... hard to discribe the taste but the texture wasn't exciting....can't say I'd seek it out to make my buttie's with!

I usually just cut it up small and put smoked salmon on it to make canapes.

I almost went to that but it was so cold and rainy that day that I opted for dinner instead. Now I know I missed out on new bread I have a little pang of regret.

Green warbies toasted with lots of butter! Mmm! Not speciality bread but god it's nice! I tend to go for barms over bread for sandwiches, nice seedy ones or tiger bread Mmm!

Yesterday, I bought a crumpet loaf from Greenhalghs Bakery.

It's basically like a small loaf but mega-thick cut and has a consistency somewhere between bread and crumpets.

Lovely toasted with a big smear of Lurpak on it.

Needless to say, the loaf is now gone, devoured !

There is a Greenhalgh's in Bolton.

Their bottled soups are also very tasty too as is their seeded low GI bread

nowt wrong with slicing it if the quality of the bread is there (for me that means made with natural yeast).

It certainly did. GM modified wheat and yeast that hasn't fully fermented is a terrible thing to expose humans to.

We have locally baked corn bread. I even buy extra for the freezer and it comes out just as good and lasts days.

I bake bread most days, amount varies to who is about to eat it. Family has started using me like a micro bakery, even my father. Last week he phoned(he never usually uses the phone), to ask for a farm house and a couple of garlic pizza breads.
