It doesn’t matter what your first message is if you’re attractive you get a response even if you put something stupid…and I for one am very much not attractive so I don’t get any responses lol

Most of the time we don't get to see the faces who message so attraction is irrelevant at that point.

We reply to the profiles we look at and like and not to the ones we don't.

It does matter to some. We've not replied to loads of hot couples and singles who have messaged "Hi", "Hi guys", "Good afternoon" etc etc.
