I watched the Scott Adkins flick, Seized last night. I’ll give it a 7; undemanding and mindless violent fun.

Most recently? I rewatched Interstellar on the flight over.

8/10. Excellent film with some great science fact, but it all goes a bit "Lucy" towards the end. Plenty of tension and tugging on the heartstrings.

Last film I watched was the most recent Mortal Kombat film.

5/10. Started off good and the effects look great unfortunately the lead character is bland and it falls apart.

Well having just recently re watched all of the films in the Alien franchise I would say without hesitation that Aliens is the superior movie.

Special effects are good for the era, acting and casting spot on.

Story is very good and the direction and production very good.

We watched the Barbie movie...not the greatest but it was ok

We also watched "you are so not invited to my bar mitzvah" good, feel good film.

Dune(the newish one) I’d give it a 9.5, the cinematography and soundtrack are amazing, the cast all do an amazing job.

I really wasn’t fussed for watching it but now I can’t wait for the next instalment.

The Big Smoke

Sound of Freedom at the cinema.

Was a great film… hard to watch in parts but a story that was important to be told.

8.7 on the little-birdie scale

I saw Equaliser 3 the other day to.

Denzel’s sadly looking a bit too old in this role now unfortunately but it was nonetheless still great fun to watch him gleefully killing miscreant mutherfuckers.

Dune is one of the greatest films I think I've ever seen, and I was sorely disappointed when it cut km credits and announced that it was split over two parts

The Last Duel (2021)

9/10

Throughly, thoroughly enjoy Ridley Scott films and this one was one of his best. A true narrative driven film following different perspectives mixed in with Scott's epic-feeling cinematography and score. Highly reccomend!

(for those who don't like uncomfortable scenes, maybe avoid).

Equaliser 2. 5/10.

Second time of watching it as I had forgotten that I watched it 2bh. Never a good sign. It ain't terrible. Just ok.

Guardians 3 was before that. Was also second viewing as went to the cinema to watch it. Actually enjoyed it more the second time around. Was a cool end to one of my favourite trilogies. 7/10.

The Call (2020)

Teen horror set in the 80s

Featuring horror legends Lin Shaye and Tobin Bell.

Unfortunately that's high point.

The film had promising ideas but the execution was lacking.

Relied on tired horror tropes.

Never reached it's full potential.

Simply wasn't scary or even that spooky.

Irritating ending.

5/10 (but only because of Lin Shaye and Tobin Bell, the rest of the film was wank)

One can’t beat a good old chainsaw fight.

Some of note over the years to definitely check out:

Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (A really shitty film but there’s a good chainsaw fight between the late Dennis Hopper and Leatherface)

Mandy: Nicolas Cage chainsaw fighting(!!!) It’s the stuff of dreams!

VFW: A great film featuring some horror genre fave older actors and in one blood drenched scene, the ever superb William Sadler goes mental with a circular saw(!) (and later comes a cropper to a chainsaw himself!)

Pray For Death: In a nail biting final fight, 1980’s ninja king, Sho Kosugi takes on a circular saw wielding James Booth

The last movie I watched was Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and I thoroughly enjoyed it so much I watched it again immediately afterwards.
