"When parking in a public car park, do you park next to people, or look for a space one car away... ![]() I look for a blue badge bay. When there isn't one, I swear loudly and have to wait or go somewhere else. Yesterday going to the gym, I had to park on an "end" normal bay and have my gym PT get my wheelchair out before I could reverse in properly. I wouldn't have been able to park without help because there were no wide enough bays (or blue badge bays). My choice then is to not go to the gym at all, or wait ages, if I'm on my own.

And also for sheltered bicycle storage. In London whenever there are roadworks or any form of construction/repairs the local authority will usually 'offer up' the blue badge spaces for Skips, Scaffolding lorries or placement of equipment. Pay & Display sections seem to be immune to this type of 'policy'. Odd that...

Blue badge bays and on street disabled bays also got snaffled in the pandemic period for extensions to shop frontages and restaurants/cafés, which have never been restored back.
