"Although not myself, folks close to me suffer from fibromyalgia so I completely sympathise." I have that, and I tell you now, it's a bollock ache and a half. I'm fed up with it all, to be honest. Painkillers can only do so much, then there's inflammation from food, pain from overdoing day to day physical stuff, difficulty sleeping, no bloody memory, and brain fog. I feel so old today.

" Yeah, I have family and friends who have it and (although it was a while ago) the doctors were (let's say) less than helpful when it came to diagnosis. Lose weight, it's all in your head, take opioids and other lovely advice. Sigh.

"I'll be going back to swimming once I've got the courage back up to go alone. " Stuff what others may or may not think - if swimming helps then get yourself out there (I'm fully aware that a strangers' words have little value at times).

I'm not worried about what other people think of me. I don't have body positivity issues. It's the being alone at the pool that's the closed door.

"Me! Having a rotten day today, because of a busy weekend and the heat. I'm refusing to take extra Ibuprofen as they give me a stomach ache if I take extra, so I'm sitting on my chair complaining to myself. Now I have people to complain to I have to ring for a physio appointment and I can't be bothered to hold for ages, so I'm putting it off. " You should ask your GP to prescribe something like Omeprazole to protect the stomach whilst taking things like Ibuprofen, naproxen etc

Since I've had ibs I've had issues with taking some medications. Salazopyrin was great for my pain relief but terribly for my stomach so I had to stop taking them. I can't take my glucosamine any more either.

"yes I'm shouting it. Any other chronic pain sufferer's out there? Been suffering from back problems following on from an accident 20odd year's ago so pretty much used to being in pain. However since the turn of the year it's ramped up to a whole new level and it's 24/7 back pain. Trying to get it sorted but GP is not helping other than giving me stupid pain killers that prevent me from being able to work the following day. It's just relentless " Sorry to hear Op I see many an individual in clinic with chronic LBP and it's never an easy situation to deal with. A timely review and perhaps repeat imaging is advisable when there is a significant aggravation of symptoms without a clear cause / trigger.
