Swing or Romance on Valentines day?

Jump to newest

By (user no longer on site) OP

Is valentines day 'just another day' for you or do you see it as a time to leave the swinging world alone for a day and devote a little love and romance to your partner? We ask because we have noticed a 'greedy girls' night planned for tomorrow at a club near us and while we are of the 'each to their own' mentality as far as swinging goes, it somewhat hits a little nerve with us that some women are happy to let several guys have sex with her on what's intended to be a romantic day for wine and dine etc. Also do the husbands partners of these women, not feel remotely miffed if their wives/partners insist on taking part?

In general, should valentines day be for romance for us swingers or just a 'carry on as normal' day?

I saw a very good thing on Facebook:

To everyone else it's Valentine's Day

To me it's Thursday

I just don't get the whole valentines day nonsense. I'm not a married man, nor am I attached but it got me wondering why you would need a whole day devoted to telling your better half you love them. What about the other 364/5 days of the year. Do you just loathe each other?

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

There are plenty of single women who don`t have a partner to spend tomorrow with who enjoy a bit of a play.

It was very funny to watch the fellas stood in the card and cheap valentines tat isle at the supermarket. The looks if sheer indifference and I can't be arsed to do this but I won't get a shag looks.

It's a normal day for us too - the whle thing is a money making excercise - you should be romantic and loving every day - not just when you're told to be so! Z

Normal day......if I want to be romantic with my hubbie I don't need to be told when to do it and certainly don't need to spend money that I don't have doing it. I love him 365 days a year and try my best to show it every day! (although sometimes it can be mistaken for me nagging )

To be fair...Valentines day is traditionally for people to flirt with someone they are keen on, sending a valentines card to your partner with your signature on it doesn't have the same mystery as receiving a card and not knowing who has sent it to you.

Saying that, Valentines is my Third highest turnover period of the year, beaten only by Christmas and Mothers Day....so long may this commercialism continue and grow!

Even my mother will be getting more than me. Last year I felt the same as I do this year, emotional.

My ex may have been a shit but he always bought me roses on Valenbollocks. This year again I'll be getting no flowers, no card and no kisses or cuddles.

To me it's just going to have to be another Thursday.

It's not all about buying cards and gifts, so unsure what Valentines Day means to you guys. For us it means putting that little bit of extra effort in to make each other happy doing things that we dont normally do. Whether its bringing breakfast in bed or just just looking into your partners eyes and telling them that not only do you love them, which is often said, but that you are IN love with them.

Yes, it's commercialised if you let it be, but so is any other 'day', like 'mothers day, a mother is a mother every day so why on the theories mentioned here should we bother or schools encourage children to send their mother or make them a mothers day card?. We can remember our fallen soldiers on any day of the week, so why have a remembrance sunday/poppy day to commemorate it?...see the point I'm trying to make?...It's a 'day' where a little extra effort is made and doesnt have to involve money!

I think a little effort should be made on any day, not just because people are encouraged to do so because it says so on the calendar.
