So what age cap is acceptable and realistically how young do you feel is too young so 85 y and 55y seems ok to me but 55y 25y my head says no feels wrong. I know it’s not but what opinion does everyone have ?

I think the golden rule is half your age plus 7 years.

But - where adults are concerned - physical age isn't always a good indicator of emotional nor mental maturity. At least, not in my personal experiences anyway.

It generally comes down to personal preference.

For me it's more about the person and maturity. Some guys in their 20's are more mature than guys in their 30's.

It’s just sex and if there is a mutual physical attract then crack on I say with any adult age group.

A one off fuck is galaxies away from wanting a meaningful relationship where you would require way more mental Compatibility/ lived experiences.

If both are adults then there is no right or wrong....

Society will tut though .. putting all their own fears and prejudices onto a relationship they know nothing about.

And if i'm honest, if one of my daughters at 25 had brought home a 55 year old i'd have looked like this then this and this this this and there isn't an emoji for screaming ab dabs and blue murder .....

It seems as you age the Half plus seven isn't viable.....

The difference between me and a man of 40 is far too great...... not in terms of age but in terms of thought and action the gap is too wide at my age..

My current beau is 16 years my junior. He was 36/38 when we met - now a man of that age seems so young to me.

Totally depends on the person for me I'd say 30 for the youngest however there's maybe 1 or 2 under that I'd definitely meet, it all depends if there's attraction and a connection.

Half of thirty plus 7 = 22. I'm not sure I'm happy with that age gap either.

Half of forty plus 7 = 27... still not sure

Half of 60 + 7 = 37.... the whole thing gets more silly

Any age gap is fine as long as it’s legal, there is consent and the 2 people involved are happy with each other. There are enough actual constraints around life without introducing unnecessary ones.

As long as it is legal and fully consented to, any age gap is acceptable. People just can't get their heads around it.

Now for me realistically I have my age ranges, they are not etched in stone and worshipped as law of God, there is wiggle room but generally I don't find myself physically or spiritually attracted to many people outside of those ranges. The further from my own age, and especially beyond my upper and lower limits it's less and less likely that attraction exists. There have been a couple of exceptions but generally it's unlikely. If I were however I would still view it as acceptable - again legal and consenting.

If it's just sex it doesn't bother me. If it's in the context of a loving relationship it doesn't bother me.

My biggest age gap in a relationship was 11 years younger, we got on famously and we are still good friends. The only time people had something to say about age was when I was 16 and my boyfriend was 24. It didn't go down well at home.

People should do what makes them happy I guess, others will judge those things regardless.

For a quick sex meet off fab or in a club, we've played with guys as young as 18/19, but probably mid 50s would be our upper age limit. So we don't really care about the gap as such.

For a relationship, probably around 5-7 years. My logic is generally if you weren't in school at the same time, you probably won't have much in common life wise.

Long as it’s legal who cares what people think.

I was on holiday last year and there was a couple. Man 50’s girl 18 maybe 17. The looks they got and the tutting from people when they came round the pool for an hour a day. But they seemed the happiest couple around the hotel.

Totally this. Some people in my age range are immature and some below it are mature.

My time on fab is certainly making me more likely to look at younger and older guys than I did before.

Max 20 years older in your 20's.

10 dow 20 up in your 30's.

20 down 10 up in your 40's.

10 years older/younger after your 50's.

It's logical for men. Women can do whatever they want without judgment.

Most people can accept 15-20 year age difference. Obviously as long as it's legal and you're not a gold digger.

Wherever

I am attracted to much younger men and I am very self conscious about the societal norms around this very subject.

It doesn’t really matter behind closed doors, as long as the attraction is mutual and with full consent but I always pay close attention to how the person I am with is feeling about being seen with me in public. If they appear comfortable and confident, I’m more than happy to take it to the next level, if they are not - for whatever reason - I know we won’t be compatible.

Hope that makes sense.

We don't really factor age. We just fancy the people we fancy. However we tend to stay away from people in their early 20s because we have older kids that age range and just feels a bit off. Met plenty of great young adults socially on our travels but it too close to home sexually for us.
