Nah. I don't like the idea of fighting to the death or fighting animals etc. Not for me.

In Florence there is, still to this day, a game played by ‘Modern Day Gladiators’ called calcio storico.

When it’s on you can watch it on the TV, but seeing it live is breathtaking. It’s raw, and violent. It’s been played since 1500 by the likes of aristocrats and Popes.

They can fight using tactics such a punching, elbowing and all martial arts techniques, but kicks to the head are forbidden. It’s four neighbourhoods fighting to be the winning neighbourhood.

I’ve watched it more than once live and it’s the closest thing to gladiators nowadays.

Whaley Bridge,Nr Buxton,

Most gladiator contests didn't end in the death of one.If they did the arena's would run out of fighters very quickly.Just a victory was sufficient. The spectators had their favourite fighters, keep the public happy, they don't cause trouble.

As Coiney has said. Few gladiators fought to the death. Tom would of love seeing one of those great shows and would of made a great gladiator himself.

Tomius Scrapio would of been his name and he would of entered the arena with the crowd siging his name and the thump of the bass of Seven Nation Army

Don't like voilence in any way shape or form.

If you'd asked if anyone would like to watch roman gladiators in action in a sexual way..... well that's a different story

I'm OK with horseplay between men but not, generally, violence between people which results in injuries. I'm sure many gladiators were attractive but I'd prefer to see them being affectionate together
