Just had the farrier out to shoe my horse and it got me thinking what a great and varied job it must be and what was once a common trade is now an unusual one!

Anyone on here have an unusual job?

Not mega unusual but I was a butcher for many years. Think some of the customers maybe found it unusual as they were always asking me "Is the butcher in?"

When I first met R he was making a living designing&selling statues on second life

I regret missing out on one particular work opportunity, someone was looking for a needleworker to be preparing coffin covers, their particular religion/denomination (didn't catch what it was, they were awfully shy about their request!) required this to be done by hand only, no machines.

I have in the past been involved in counting Emperor Penguins in colonies in Antarctica.

Don't do it any longer thankfully.

My ex used to work in a lab that studied bull semen for breeding purposes.

Also I have a friend who spent a summer working as a golf ball diver in lakes on Florida golf courses, they then re sold the balls as lake balls
