Gateway to the Beacons |
In a world that's always bustling,
With the noise from dusk to dawn,
Let's pause and do some trusting,
To check on the strong and withdrawn.
The quiet ones among us,
And those who seem so sure,
May bear a secret compass
That points to something more.
"Hey, how are you feeling?"
A question simple, yet deep.
An opening, revealing
The thoughts their minds do keep.
Even those who are steadfast
Might bear a hidden load.
A simple query could cast
Light on a winding road.
And if you have the moment,
To lend a listening ear,
You could become the ointment
For someone's pain or fear.
To listen—oh so potent—
Requires not a single word,
Yet speaks volumes in the moment,
More than any ever heard.
So when the world is raging,
In its endless, frenzied quest,
Your quiet listening could be paging
Through chapters unexpressed.
Check-in on friends and family,
On those who talk, and those who hide.
For mental health so candidly
Is life's less traveled side.
To be there is to witness
Both happiness and strain,
Your presence can be a fitness
For someone else's brain.
So here's to mental check-ins,
To questions that we pose,
For in these fragile reckonings,
A stronger love may grow. |
