In ancient Latin, persona meant "mask." In my years meet some very nice and some different people who come and go here. But for some each new name its like a different persona .. Bit like a actor thay go into some other person . ? Maybe it there cover , lol and really under cover.I like to think i am same on here as if you meet me.

Over the years, and across various sites (with other interests than this area) I have had many names.

If a site is 'tuned' to a specific interest, I would most probably keep my posting (if there were a forum) to that general area of interest.

I see n issue with cahnging names across sites, or indeed if returning to site. I would consider it as if I might be joining a new community with a whole range of new people. A fresh start.

However, I wouldn't have changed within myself. Still the same person.

People do change over time, and through life experience, we all do.

So when seeing a "returnee" to a site whom one may recognise, one might also notice changes in thier "percieved persona".

Whether or not these changes are a deliberate choice of the returnee, or the natural changes of 'life' would be hard to tell.

Confidence waxes and wains, choices and preferences may vary - this is life.

We never all (no matter what we think) remain the same.

If all you are going to do is chat her - then a fake persona works - however it is difficult to keep it up consistently.

thus I try to be true to myself - its easier that way

and life is meant to be fun - not trying to confound people

It's always there, just waiting to be unleashed. All it takes is a moment where straight talking is called for and then people look at me like an alien has popped out of my chest and has got their testicles between its teeth with that 'go on, push me' look in it's eye

"So is your user name your mask ? And do you change ?"

The username is just an eye catching statement, my real name is my mask...its not who i am...its what my folks named me...

Is your persona really a mask? or is the mask actually who you know yourself to really be?

IM sure there are people on here who will adjust to suit their needs or their desires - its human nature - but equally there will be individuals who are just themselves - I think there is a place for both on somewhere like this, for some its an escape, the chance to be someone outside of their normal life, for others this is their life..

We had this discussion at Chams on Sunday when we all got together. Were we the same in person as we are on the forums. I think everyone agreed that we all were as mad in person as in real life so to speak.

I know there's little bits of me that I hold back from the forums and generally in my life that certain individuals get to see when I'm ready but that is the same I think in any relationship.

I have met a number of forumites and people from Fab and I can count on a few fingers the ones who have an online persona - they tend to be the ones that you will only see one verification for!!

Our user name has nothing to do with our personality, we like sex and live nearly on the beach..... Sex_on the beach.....

We don't hide behind a mask either, what you see is what you get with us!!

I would say I am me and that that includes several "personas" anyway, sometimes I am serious, sometimes pensive and thoughtful, other times I love being playful, enjoy teasing and yet other times I like a healthy debate. So yes, I guess there is room for several personas without being disingenuous.

In my case I'd say that, to most people, my real face is actually the mask and so therefore the persona is very much the real me just in a concentrated dose - expressing myself the way I can't in the outside world because you have to edit yourself so much. Either way, I'm the real me, nobody else... wait...

This is turning into Total Recall...

YOU BLEWWW MY COVERRRR!!!

It's funny how this post made me think. I am pretty much the same "out there" as I am in here. My profile name was given to me by someone I was seeing three years ago and didn't consider myself to be anything like a "Sex Goddess". But as time went on, and I found out more about myself sexually, I realised he was completely right. However, in the last few months, I have wondered whether I should change it, given the passage of time, but this post had me thinking. Have I changed inside? Do I still want to explore things sexually, do I still have fun and more importantly, to my guys still want to see me? The answer to all of the above is yes, so the Scottish Sex Goddess is here to stay, for now anyway lol.
