It's the first thing I look for on any profile.

I change my lower age filter every year so it's always 10 years above my eldest child.

Doesn't matter to me in the slightest how mature, intelligent or hot anyone under that age thinks they are because I won't be engaging with them.

I tend to have a lower limit rather than an upper one. For me a women usually enters her sexual prime in her forties/fifties - that is the age that she becomes comfortable in her own skin, knows what she wants and doesn’t want and is less bothered by social pressure. I find that exciting.

It matters but it's not a simple black and white answer. Different factors come in the play.

I mean if age didn't matter we wouldn't have a legal and a morale minimum age. Some people walk the line of as soon as legal age hits things are fair game.

Others have a much higher minimum age. Some people have actual age limits were as other people have x years younger and older than themselves.

Yes I have age limits, younger and older. They are not solid and rigid in that suddenly one person going from 24 to 25 suddenly changes them as a person, I have a bit of wiggle room either side but for the most part the further somebody is from my own age the less likely I'll have things in common with them, the connection/bond is unlikely to form quite the same.

We have an age range, but it's a guideline. Starts at 30 but if someone was a few years younger and they were mature enough and we really liked them we are flexible. Same for upper limit.

I don't really like reading about kids and parents in these threads. If you are just not into people being much older or younger, I think that's all most people really need to know. If you are actually attracted to older but you then think of your parents (or kids etc) and it puts you off then that's equally a bit weird to me I guess.

So to people who do like a lot older (as I do with men) - or perhaps like a lot younger people if that's your thing - then for the vast majority of those people their parents and kids will have nothing to do with it of course, it just won't be on their minds.

They might of course think of *themselves* being *younger* for sure - which can work very well both with being with older people (who can automatically make you feel younger) and with being with younger too of course (which takes you back). It's a huge factor in age play and dressing up etc - rekindling our youthful days is just huge in sexuality. But they won't be thinking of their parents or kids I'm sure. There is just something about the connotation that suggests a connection somehow aught to be there, and then of course it makes it wrong.

The answer for me is that it's subjective obviously - but morally speaking (and Fab is often quite a moral place) why should age matter?

I just feel that highlighting this reason is a bit off, but a few people always do it. That is always going to feel off to some of us who don't feel that way tbh. Because of the topic or connotations I guess.

It's because it just seems really irrelevant to me - but I guess I'm assuming that people really aren't into it because they just aren't into it. But maybe I'm wrong. Maybe people's own family actually do put them off and they are simply explaining this fact.

Fair enough obviously, but I need to say that I wasn't ever referring to people like you at all. I fully expect that most people are attracted to sexual partners who are 'broadly' in their own age ranges anyway (eg your 10 year max range going narrower).

Age is just a number, however I never would meet anyone younger than my daughter, that's just me. In general I don't like meeting men in their 30s or younger as they can be over enthusiastic and not as compassionate as I like but it isn't everyone, however as a previous poster has said: I like kind people, gentle people, naughty but nice and fun people. Age only matters from a legal sense … I’m 56 and defo best seen from a distance and up close in do. Light it my mind still acts and feels like my 18 yr old self… ie sex mad… so assume .. and hope … I’m still thinking like this when I’m 70 of 80

When someone has not been honest about it then yes. On here it does not matter so much but on dating sites then yes.

My last girlfriend was half my age, I was 48 and she was 24, met her at work, she did the chasing, I turned her down a few times due to age but then went with it. Neither of us saw the age gap, we just hit it off and were great together. It was other people’s opinions which took its toll.
