Its shrove Tuesday tomorrow, pancake day yum yum and doubtless we will all be tucking in. Originally this was to use up eggs and milk before the abstinance of lent. I suspect a bit outdated but what would you give up for lent?

Shrove Tuesday, three years ago I gave up sexual abstinence. It might just be chocolate this year.

hmmmm last year me and the daughter gave up meat and cheese - well she gave up meat and i did for her - likewise her with my cheese -

then i found i didnt enjoy cheese as much and it really used to be one of my guilty pleasure and she rarely eats meat now and only in a small quantity -

this year i think i will give up real butter - no way will i ever lose the yumminess of hot buttered toast or buttery mash

Tomorrow is fine. The giving up bit starts on Ash Wednesday. Lent restrictions don't apply to Sunday's or any high days that fall during the period.
