Should i get the ring doorbell, or the Blink doorbell ?

if i understand correctly, you have to pay a monthly fee with ring,

But with the Blink it looks like you can buy a hub and store the video on there,

Any recommendations ??

Might be wrong but I read some time ago that Ring were moving towards a neighbourhood cctv like system. Where as it's owned by Amazon and cloud based; any crime in the area, ring cameras would pool to centrally track activity. If there were enough people with them it wouldn't matter if one didn't as coverage would cease any black spots. Something like it.

It made me question if it was to reduce crime, track (any/all) activity or inflate house prices as it would still need police to investigate not ring/amazon.
