Look, it’s Tetley tea in a nice big pot. I’m keeping it warm on the Aga in case anyone pops round later. I’ve got fresh milk from the farm along the road that was still in a cow five hours ago. MsWyld is kindly bringing the biscuits.

Anyone who wants coffee is going to have to grab their own to go on their way over.

Deal?

I swing both ways.

But I’m from Yorkshire, so tea feels more communal. It is the drink of my people and I’m trying to use it to bring the Lounge together around something positive and comforting.

You can pop outside and play with the dog. He’ll perk you right up.

.

"I need a lot more than a brew right now.. Pass me the gin fml lol"

Not until the sun is over the yardarm. Patience, little one.

.

"I’m halfway through my 3rd coffee, not sure if I dare "

Down in one. Down in one. Down in one.

Double dare you.

.

"And can I lean up against you on the sofa while I drink it?"

That would be just delightful. The dog usually leans up against me, but he’s outside entertaining Cede.

Thank you. And please don't speak to me before I've finished my first mug. When I'm half way through the second one you are quite safe...

I can only think of benefits to rubbing up against some Yorkshire folk

‘appen, trouble at t’mill etc.
