Moonraker is the GOAT.

Cheesy innuendo.

Jaws.

Improbable escapes.

Bang tidy female love interest.

Laser fights in outer space .

And a classic finale : “My God! What’s Bond doing” “I think he’s attempting re-entry, Sir”

Best song

Best opening scene (especially the minute the parachute opens)

The best car (that works underwater)

Great locations

A fantastic bad guy

And even references my all time favourite film (Jaws)

Ladies, Gentlemen and all those others in between I give you ….

Roger Moore in

The Spy who Loved Me

(Actually my real favourite is Casino Royale with Daniel Craig, but SWLM is the first Bond film I saw, so it’s got a soft spot for me )

It is the early 70's I was in the local library (remember them places) I reached out to a book on the shelf called From Russia With Love my first read of Bond I read them all and still read them today.

I read Thunderball, OHMSS and You Only Live Twice known as the Bolfield trilogy Daniel Craig wanted to make that trilogy but strikes and injury meant it never came to pass.

My favourite Bond film, the rule has been the third film of each actor who has played Bond more than 3 times, but I do not follow rules, so OHMSS is my favourite as you do not need to read the book as the film follows the narrative of the book so closely

Favourite Bond, the actors who bothered to play him as a cold blooded killer Lazenby, Dalton and Craig

"Living Daylights, controversial but Timothy Dalton my favourite Bond.

I agree and my favourite Aston too. "

Dalton didn't get a fair crack at Bond.

I think he was in a really difficult position coming right after the cheese fest era then straight into intense revenge style bond was too much at the time.

But be paved the way for brosnan and Craig.

I think if he'd come after Brosnan he would have been more successful.

I just really hope they don't go with the over wokeness and give into pressure by casting, well you know not a chap.

Surely we are allowed to keep at least one strong male leading character with an old fashioned temperament.

He's a gentleman and a killer but a bit of a cad.

He's not a thug and doesn't discriminate he'll kill anyone

Also he's like the old captain Kirk, he'll fuck anyone.

Importantly he's a man's man and as much as I think empowerment of other genders is right on and all that.

It's also important to remember men need some positive reinforcement as well a strong male role model is as important it is for women this is being diluted by the woke agenda to the point of men are scared to be manly anymore.

And by this I don't mean a chauvinistic neanderthal.

But a strong alpha male who is a gentleman and treats people fairly but doesn't take any shit.

I couldn't care about colour it's Bond still being Bond that matters.

Anyways A licence to Kill

I hope they go back to individual bond stores rather than this arc story stuff. Something fun simple be great plus they can chop and change characters / actors if needed much easier

Sometimes this trying to be gritty / realistic (if we can even call bond films that ) gets tiresome in an age of doom and gloom.

I am here for whacky gadgets / stupid one liners and over the type action sequences

I love them all but:

Goldeneye - best film

Daniel Craig - best story arc across the films

Sean Connery - most likely to be Bond in real life

Roger Moore - best bond universe

Timothy Dalton - way ahead of his time. Craig’s bind before craig was craig

George Lazenby - proper lad. His story is more fun off screen than on

I really like Dalton too. He’s probably the most grounded of the lot. Barbara was looking at bringing him back for Goldeneye but I think she wanted a break from her Dad’s legacy when she took over

I’m glad she did though. Dalton kept the respectability he inevitably would have lost by tossing a pair of exploding glasses at someone

Never been much of a Bond fan but, to this day, the ending of No Time To Die upsets me - not in a bad way, but in the way really good films properly can.

I was hoping they would leave bond dead for a bit and flesh out the other characters. M, Moneypenny, and even Q are all field agents on some level now. Plus they introduced the new 007 (not Bond). Seems a lazy waste to just make another Bond film

I’ve got a theory it’s because Amazon have bought them and they didn’t like the criticism that the franchise dished out to AWS in Spectre so they wanted a change of direction

I was hoping for a whole Marvel universe type scenario
