There are so many great looking, imaginative and captivating photos and videos posted here, that are all too often pretty much ruined ruined by low exposure.

A semi decent dslr, tripod, lighting and mic would make all the difference.

For shots that are going to be viewed 99% of the time as thumbnails on phone screens?

Yeah.

I'll stick to my phone and not break out the serious gear.

It’s already enough of an effort to take photos on your own without arsing around with a load of kit

Indeed, they were just snaps. I'll put some effort in to compare before and after.

I like the seeing pics in the moment, shows we are all genuine and people can then accept you as you appear in the pic

Not necessarily, a fair few phone camera have as good a quality lens on them as a standard camera and most have a pro mode too, just depends on the person taking it and how much they know or even want to put into taking the picture.

Agreed! And part of the fun is that it’s normal pics taken by normal people, not the glossy fake ones you can find all over the internet!

Tbh a DSLR/mirrorless isn't required to take decent pics so you can fuck off with that snobbish nonsense.. I've seen a million "professional" pics taken with a DSLR and a decent knowledge of composition beats most of them
