we were told if you sat on a hot radiator you would get pregnant (this was in sixth form with those large old fashioned radiators), not sure if it meant if I was sitting on it with a girl that she would get pregnant, or maybe biology was not the teacher's subject (think she may have taught geography A-level)

It’s a confusing time when you are trying to work out if you bi or gay, especially when you thought you where bisexual for a long time. heteronormativity in society can make this difficult. I struggled with this for a while so I understand this question. Did you get turned on by men or women before you had sex with them ?

Is your sexual arousal higher with one sex over the other. Something I noticed was that when it came to men I would never let them go down on me and rare times it did happen I felt awkward, I couldn’t relax and it took me forever to get turned on, I thought there was something wrong with me. When it came to sex with men, I’d most of the time had a drink or I’d just tell them to put it in and I’d hope eventually my body would start to respond to the guy.

Meanwhile I could have an orgasm just thinking about a woman, kissing a woman or if I was playing with myself and thinking of a woman I’d cum in seconds. I get so incredibly turned on my women, their lips, eyes, hair, their beautiful figures. You get the drift

Growing up I knew I liked women but I didn’t understand what is was because society automatically assumes you’re straight that we all are straight. Every film, program, book was straight, even just your own friends and family would say things like, you’re gonna be a heartbreaker to some guy or is that your boyfriend when you’re a kid. So all throughout our lives we are fed this heteronormative world and so we ourselves assume ourself to be straight at first, then put it down as being bisexual as I couldn’t possibly be a lesbian if I’ve had relationships and sex with men.

Hence when you are trying to figure out if you’re bisexual or gay that is a very difficult realisation that can take years to come to terms with, especially when it’s later in life.

OP pay the ones mocking you no mind for they have never had to have this conversation in their own minds, if they had, they wouldn’t be mocking you as they would have known how much of a struggle this question is to someone trying to work it out in their own internal dialogue.

You will work it out, take your time and if anything just go with sexually fluid or no label for a while until it finally clicks for you. Take the pressure off from having a label. Only you can work out what your sexuality is and by having no label for yourself at all you may just figure it out.
