Is it possible to fail several times and succed once?

From the land of haribos.

I would say that yes, it is possible, for example, many successful people have failed many times before succeding and the ability to learn from failure and keep trying is the receptor of eventual success.

I like this saying "I will succeed because I am willing to fail more times that you would ever try".

What is your view about it and do you also agree with it?

The Town by The Cross

Every successful person you see , tried and failed many times. The trick is they get back up and keep going.

Anyone who is successful right away will soon fall as they have no experience to draw on and can't see the pitfalls coming. They just fall more spectacularly but with resilience can also get up again and keep going.

I know someone who failed their driving test numerous times, they eventually passed with 0 minor faults.

Yes it can happen

I think if you treat every fail as a learning curve you can succeed and you will have a deeper understanding of what it is you are trying to achieve. And possibly you are likely to stay a success because you recognise how hard you have worked to get there

This is exactly it. I don't think anyone believes that failing means eternal failure. You learn. Keep trying. Until you get it right one day. I think resilience is one of the most admirable traits a person can have; that ability to keep going because it's something you believe in? So what if you fail along the way - if you're still trying that's the most *important thing.

*obviously there are times when you shouldn't keep trying. :D

Ahh shag, Thomas Edison's quote, “I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work,”

It only takes once to succeed, it all depends how much you want it

Yes. I agree with those things too that those who succeed straight away wont have the same kind of experience of those who keep trying and eventually gets there

La la land

I like Steven Bartlett's thought on it.

The reason you're not good at it, is because you haven't been willing to suck at it, for long enough to get good at it. Mastery begins with a commitment to suck at something for long enough to learn.

We often learn better and quickly, from our mistakes. It's definitely reasonable to expect to succeed after failure, if you're willing to learn and adapt

Failure is character building.

Whenever something doesn't go right I tell myself or other people :

Get up, wipe your mouth and go again.

Not sure where I got that from though.

For once weightlifting is a great example of this. Nobody has ever succeeded in the sport without failing time and time again.

People assume success is very linear but it’s actually more like investments , there are a series of big steps up and down and a compound effect and rewards of staying in for the long haul.

Interesting Seth Godins book the dip teaches you to quit often & frequently the things you should not be doing and dig in through the dips on the things you should be doing.

You can fail as many times as is needed until you succeed.

There are of course somethings you can only fail once
