I remember when I got married many moons ago. He brought handkerchiefs with him. I said I'm not washing them full of.....he said I prefer handkerchiefs, my mum just boils them in a pan

I said you have two choices, take them back to your mum's for laundering or get used to tissues. He opted for tissues

La la land

I do, I've got runny eyes. They're so much softer and gentler on your skin. Paper near eyes is just yuk to me.

Same to be honest. Though they are good for ironing delicate clothes if you have any old ones.

That's understandable! And pretty different to a gelatinous mass too

Hankerchiefs have the edge in some settings. Particularly for funerals. On that happy note.....

I’ve said the word handkerchief too many times and now it doesn’t make sense.

Somewhere In The Ether…

I like handkerchiefs; they’re far sturdier than mere tissues (which disintegrate woefully!) when it comes to catching and wiping off snot after a particularly mighty sneeze.

I use them at the beginning of the hayfever season, wipe my eyes, or dsmpen it and help relieve them with a cold compress
