Eating horsemeat

I tried it when I lived abroad and it really tastes no different from beef but is so much less expensive.

I could not continue to buy it though just because I kept thinking of those poor horses. Strange though cos we seem to accept it easily enough for cutey lambs etc.

Yeah this is what I'm thinking, is the uproar because people aren't buying what they think they're buying.

I mean some of these 'hot dogs' I see people buy are just crushed chicken caucuses.

It's a bit weird because like has been said they eat it in France.

The fuss is that people were lied to and told it was beef.

If companies are up front about it and allow people to choose what meat they want to eat them I woukd agree, not much fuss to be had.

I'd eat horse meat if it was on sale in the UK but I understand that some people humanise horses as they are kept as pets etc and think more about their 'feelings'.

I've eaten it in France, Belgium, Holland Germany, but always known it was horse-meat.

I think that is what the outrage is all about.

People like to have a choice in what they eat, and pay for beef to be beef.

well if its about money I think fair enough, if I asked for a cheaper meat I'd expect to pay less

if I truly had one meat I wouldnt eat through choice itd be human, and primates most likely

I bet the price of "real" beef will sky rocket once butchers jump on the "home grown" bandwagon

We are lucky to live in a bountiful society where choice can be excised……

We have the luxury of viewing dolphins and dogs as something other than the food we need to feed our children so they can survive….!.

If you think that finding horse meat in the food chain is bad wait until you find out what's been happening at crematoriums.

You know locusts have more protein than meat. I am thinking of designing some kind of flying dyson and reprocessing them, kinda like soya protein.

Waddya think?

If a good looking guy was to say he was hung like a horse I doubt many girls would refuse to "eat it".

Good source of protein aren't they [insects]?

Be thankful we don't eat polar bear. The meat is black and you have to sign a waiver in case you get rabies

appears theres a goldilocks zone for eating animals

insects and arachnids are disgusting...altho not that much different from lobster, crab, shrimp etc

cows sheep pigs are better than horses, cats, dogs, rabbits

reptiles are an almost no-go either...despite possibly being quite birdlike?

snails arent commonly eaten yet welks/winkles and other molluscs are

its entirely hypocritical and makes no sense to me...if ur after animal based nutrition

*I'd like to point out I find it disgusting hunting for sport, and the hunting of rare wild animals..even if it is to eat(unless it was really quite necessary)
