"I do four sets of 8-10reps working up to my last heaviest set of 6-9reps. Final sets are- Squats 150kg Deadlifts 160kg I only really flat barbell bench as a secondary exercise with uncline bench dumbbell at about 36kg dumbbells. I do seated dumbbell shoulder press working up to 32kg ish It does vary from day to day and I throw in cardio days fairly frequently, ie jump rope 1/2hr/punch pads/punchbag, some running but I prefer to do that in bad weather or winter, not a fan of too much sun exposure. " Incredible

"My PB (not workout for 3 months though, lost all motivation.) Bench press 102kgs (3 sets,4,2 then 1 rep) Seated shoulder press think best was 64kg barbell for reps/sets Squat, use to only do 60kg ( I workout in my garden)so was a front squat(not on back) T-bar row 70kg for sets/reps I've always done 6 sets, with trying to do 6-10 reps in general I've muscle imbalance all over the place ![]() ![]() Get on the cable machines if you have them, good for correcting muscle imbalance

Good point if you use hand wraps a belt would probably be needed too.

"I’ve never been in a gym. I haven’t ran anywhere since I was 15. Am I missing out?" I personally feel a need to exercise regularly. I think it depends on the person, their lifestyle etc. It can be addictive. Especially chasing numbers, personal bests

Years of running up and down scaffolds, but I don’t work anymore and I’m waiting for some blood tests results tomorrow. I’ve got the feeling things are gonna have to change.

"Some great numbers here, Fabbers! As well as absolute numbers, I'd recommend also keeping track in terms of your relative strength (eg, is your deadlift 1/1.5/2 x your bodyweight etc). In general, a 60kg squat is much more difficult if that's what you weigh; less so if you weigh 100kg..." I aim for progressive overload each session, I weigh 83kg

"Erm I use the weighty machines, adjust the weights from the very bottom to just above middle, and do 3 reps of 15-20 on each. Either legs or upper body/ chest. And treadmill and or bike start and end. " Forgot to mention, a guy the other day had two humongous dumbbells no idea what they weighed, they looked bigger that his head! Very impressed ![]()
